I was gonna start a new thread for this but this seems like a good place to ask.
I had opticoat applied to my car shortly after purchasing it in June. I LOVE the fact that I can now easily clean my car by hand and not have to worry about wax. I've put 13k miles on the car and paint chips were starting to bother me so I made the decision to with with a clear bra. I recently (10 days or so) had Xpel Ultimate applied to my front bumper, fenders, and full hood with wrapped edges. I also had them wrap my mirror caps and fender inserts in 3M Di-noc carbon fiber. I drove heavily for work over the last week and need to clean the front end of my car. The exposed opticoat still washes beautifully of course but I now need to know the proper method for washing the Xpel film. It's doing a great job of protecting my paint but bug residue and the like doesn't just wash off quite as easily. I haven't tried hand washing it yet so perhaps it's not going to be difficult but I figured I'd ask.

for the clear filmed part of the car you can use Sonax Polymer NetShield and maintain with the Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer in fact you can use that on the entire car. Sonax made this product to maintain their coating product in other parts of the world. We have found it to be a great stand alone or coating maintenance product. LMK if you have any other questions. |

Are there any drawbacks to waxing the windshield? Like damaging wiper blades?

For glass please don't use wax as it can smudge and really cause some issues.

Hello @DetailersDomain
I had my car opti-coated by one of the forum members here back in August. The car has been garaged and been well taken care of. However, today, I stayed at my gf's house and my car got hit with some sprinklers in the morning. It sat in the sun for about a good 4-5 hours until I got to it. I got home, washed the car and saw that the spots were still on the body of the car. I hit it with some QD spray and my Speedy Surface Prep Towel to see if it would come off but I still see the spots. Is there anything I can do that won't damage the opti-coat or is this now a done deal and have to get it re-done? Thanks for your help in advance! |

opti coat is not going to fight against the water spots if you get one it's going to act like a clear coat.
did you do a light polish with a machine or by hand? |

Did it by hand. Went over it about 3 times. It's slowly going away but the water spot lining is still present.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35385 there's no scuffs or scratches and nothing i can physically feel. it looks almost like it a stain in the paint but i have no clue what it would be from. it's only visible in direct sunlight. any idea? |

Do you guys sell a full exterior care kit?
Soap, buckets, mitt, towel, wheels etc? Same question for interior with alcantara. Will be using a touch less diy wash place since I'm in an apartment. Have opticoat on car so wax not necessary. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2 |
