Don't feel bad that guys are suspicious doing business with Heuberger... I initially was as well. I believe here in California we are just used to the fact that all car dealerships are shady and have slime ball greedy sales people. I have to say that I was thoroughly surprised at every step in the sales process how honest and straight forward you and Heuberger Motors have been. I wish all CA car dealerships were like you guys! But then I guess that's the reason why you guys are the highest volume Subaru dealership in the entire country
When my brother bought his car all cash the dealership was suspicious and couldn't believe that we weren't drug dealers or something (my brother was 24 by the way)...this really has become a common issue now with dealerships and all cash purchases...

Hmm I'm planning to lease a BRZ from southern california through heuberger as well..
my main concern remains the transportation issue. would an OEM car cover somehow reduce the chance of paint damages assuming that it can be secured and not fly off during transportation?

Also, this vehicle shouldn't fail any CA smog checks right?

Kelvin,

I responded to your email. PLEASE read the previous page, as I have covered the issue.

Unfortunately, we can not cover your car with a Brz car cover. Also, being a detailer, I do not recommend as I'm worried particulates would cause more damage getting under the cover and rubbing.

But I'll cover it again.

I am no longer shipping with Diamond transportation. Even though they have revamped after myself and my GSM, spoke with the owner. Personally having one of my customers cars damaged was too much.

With that being said I've switched recently to accelerated shipping and have shipped two stis without damage. I can also personally track your order which is nice. I've also met with Melodie, the manager to ensure our BRZ inventory and STI inventory without question, is closely watched.

Again at the end of the day; If you are to scared or concerned please fly into DIA, and I will personally have someone pick you up. Then we can have a coffee at the coffee bar, laugh and show you parts department and wish you congratulations in person.

But remember shipping company is a third party, I personally inspect, Photograph and video each car before it ships.

Kelvin, If you or anyone has any questions I advise you to call me versus posting to the forum.

Best regards,

Clint

Hi everyone,

I sent a PM to Clint last night asking if he could send an email for a price quote. He gave me a call today and explained everything with attention to detail. Not only did he give me an outstanding price on a Limited, his service is far superior to 99% of the other dealers I have spoken to. As many others in this thread, I was skeptical of buying a car out of state. After many bad trips to dealerships and ridiculous markup quotes, I decided to contact Clint. Best decision I've ever made.

We spoke on the phone for about 30 min to exchange my option preferences and information. I didn't even have to haggle a price, he just gave me the numbers and everything worked out great! Shipping was a good price as well, but I'm still not 100% sure if I will travel to get the car, or ship it to my home. I will update more of my experience as I start doing paperwork and again once I receive possession my car. (July)

Again, if ANYONE is looking to get a BRZ, Clint is the man to talk to. :happy0180:

Exclamation SHIPPING

FT-86,

I scheduled a meeting with Melodie M, from Accelerated Shipping. You can see the website in my order thread.

I discussed things that have happened with Steve & My STi customer Neil.

I shared pictures, discussions and also shared your guys' comments.

All in all a positive step forward, as Forum Director, I told her it is part of my job to ensure the vehicle gets shipped. With every order, again I will always photograph it going on the truck! After that It'll be in her hands but I will be giving all my customers her number and I can personally track your vehicle. I think we are going to be great going forward.

Best,

Clint

@Clint - With the hard work PMok made to outline the steps to purchase out of state and our (I bought from HB myself) candid feedback on the Heuberger purchase process, has your dealer thought of sponsoring any of the Norcal or Socal local groups for meets or other events? The more people that feel comfortable with buying out of state will surely open your market to new buyers, and more people get to feel on how a "normal" car purchase should be.. A little off-topic, but I figured i'd be the loudmouth bringing this up first

That is a cool idea, but I have a different request to make, specifically regarding this thread.

Clint, I had a great buying experience from Heuberger and would definitely recommend buying through you guys to all others interested in buying a BRZ, or any other Subaru for that matter. And I have! But let me say this, my intention in starting this thread was not to promote any one particular dealership, but to share on a more generic level the option for CA buyers to purchase a car from out of state, and answer some of the logistical questions that an interested buyer might naturally have. This thread is for informational purposes intended to benefit those potential buyers. I have watched with interest your arrival on the scene and am now concerned that you are trying to make this into an official or unofficial Heuberger-centric thread. You can certainly start your own thread and promote your sales as much as you want. I would like this thread however to remain as dealership-neutral as possible. That doesn't mean you can't participate and answer questions if they come up, whether they are specific to your dealership or are generic purchasing questions, but what I propose is that you direct interested buyers to your own thread if they want to interact more with you, or invite them to call you. I don't want to chase you out of this thread, but I do want it to not become the Clint @ Heuberger show either. I hope you understand where I am coming from, and I am not a moderator and not really anyone more than just another member here, so I am just expressing my original intent for this thread and you are welcome to do as you see fit, I can't really stop you from doing what you will. Thanks for reading and participating on our threads, I do think it's a net positive for us that you are here.

I understand and you guys have ALOT of questions regarding shipping and prices. I don't think I've overstepped a boundary and think that I have helped. Especially with all the "negative" stuff I would like cleared and to hit the nail on the head.

Telling people to go to my thread and buy a car and call me with my number listed I think is overkill.

But I appreciate your response and glad you had a great experience!! I would love if you could email me your feelings instead of publicly posting...

There are moderators in which I'm in contact with them, if they have an issue they have the ability to reach out to me and let me know what needs to be corrected.

I am just a voice and a voice that hopes to help and make people happy.

Take care, have a great night folks !

This is a public forum, intended primarily for owners and enthusiasts of this car, but yes also for vendors, dealers, and other members of the general public. Why wouldn't I, or shouldn't I, post my feelings or my intentions in creating this particular thread? Not sure what it is I said that you'd want to be privately discussed instead.

Hi All,
Wanted to introduce myself to the forum, but more importantly, to thank you all (PMok especially) for the great content. I plan to go from long time lurker to contributor where possible.

Excited to be joining the 'Ship to CA' group in May with a 6MT WRB Premium.

Shopped around with several local places and several out of state dealerships too. Ended up going with Clint at Heuberger. I felt mostly comfortable going with the folks I spoke with in Portland and Reno, but the great info posted here by PMok and the rest of you along with Clint's service level sealed the deal for me.

PMok, given the recent posts, just want to say I totally understand that you weren't/aren't pushing Heuberger at all - I just felt more comfortable given that there was a solid published history of transactions with Clint. Didn't interpret your posts as an 'ad' at all.

I admit I'm still a little nervous about this out of state stuff, specifically the condition of the vehicle when it gets to me, but all the great info available through this community was instrumental in allowing me to weigh the risk/reward of going this route.

Thanks again,
japrechaun (Kiyoshi)
