Go with a Tune first. You will always need a tune after you add headers or turbo =D
My set up include a Catted P&L headers, Nameless Front Pipe with cat and resonator, and a Accelerated performance muffler and midpipe. Keep in mind that i never had any headers before and only compare to stock. But even with a catted header i feel like its really loud. My engine noise drown out my exhaust, which is slightly louder then stock. I say get the nameless Front pipe, i cant hear any sound coming from underneath or behind me. Its only engine noise. My car is untuned at the moment and while it feels faster, acceleration does not feel as smooth as stock. I will be get a tune soon, i feel like i need it to restore its original smooth acceleration feel. |

I know friend of mine got his car tuned there (09 wrx), but not sure about this engine though. I'm sure they'll do a custom tune. |

There has been more than one person that has achieved over 200rwhp with e85 tune + header + plus exhaust + drop in filter. Looking at peak torque only doesn't give the big picture.
You can gain only 15lbs ft. of torque peak but by eliminating the "dip" you're picking up much more where it counts. Scott

As Jeremy says: Headers + Tune.
Don't get a intake (particularly AFE takeda) thinking it will fix the torque dip. It makes the low end torque before the torque dip more, and increases the noticeability of the torque dip. |

That's odd...my AFE with tune shortened the torque dip quite a bit. Or are you saying the intake alone?

Won't get rid of torque dip but will be much higher with a 4.67 final drive swap, 21lb more torque across the entire rev range.

Yes just the intake itself. My only mod is AFE takeda intake. Plan to put Perrin headerback, Borla UEL and Stage 2 FA20club tune. Hopefully this will get rid of the torque dip!

If you go with an axle back and keep the stock midpipe it keeps the volume down... especially if you keep a high flow cat in the front pipe.Check out some of the nameless axle-back threads
