If you want power and quiet, the quietest option is headers, over pipe, front pipe (catted will help reduce noise) and stock cat-back. There's more power found by replacing the over and front pipe's than the cat-back, so you aren't hold back too much power by keeping the stock cat-back.

Here's what my setup will be : JDL UEL Header, JDL Over-Pipe, JDL Front-Pipe (catted).
I currently have the mXp catback. I love the sounds it makes, however, I'm almost certain it will end up being too loud, especially on the highway just maintaining 65-75mph. It will not be noticeable at 75mph+ because the wind noise overpowers it Keep in mind I posted this thread to get ideas and options to have in mind. Ideally, I would like my entire exhaust system made by JDL. Their catback is a ways out and I'm hoping the volume will be acceptable. Thanks for everyone's input so far as you guys have given me some good ideas.

This reminds me of when I showed my first WRX to my grandparents (which at the time GM still had the Fuji Heavy shares). They went on and on about hurting america this and sliting our own wrists that. Then I asked if they'd be alright if I came home with a Porsche or a Merc and they said yes: THEY'RE STILL FOREIGN. I'll get off my soap box since I'm actually very interested in a quiet exhaust for the future. Not trying to E-thug or anything. :happy0180: |

Many of the quality exhaust producers in this country are active forum members and I know if I had a problem with their product it would be much easier contacting them and remedy the situation.
I also prefer to support our economy when possible. I'm American dude ![]() Quote:

Perrin resonated cat back is almost absurdly high quality and is nice and quiet with a nice rumble. It then roars in a non obnoxious way when really hammering it.

Try MXP first since you own it then go back to stock if its too loud. Nameless offset axleback, Greddy SP Elite, or Perrin resonated would be some other choices if the stock is too quiet but i don't think it will be.

I agree. Another consideration I was thinking is just the muffler portion of the mXp with the stock mid-pipe

I would wait till the JDL goodies comes first and hook it up with those catback MXPs...and go from there , don't worry too much . As u have a buyer for your existing setup already anyway

plus, you know, you don't really want to support a manufacturing industry that is known to cause cancer in their workers at an extremely high rate, have very little safety laws on the books, and pay their workers just barely enough to live. Not to even mention the average quality of components. Some companies are better than others, but US made products with US sourced materials just can't be beaten. (for aftermarket parts companies)
