Was pretty easy - remove the panel by the window and small panel by the airbag key then run the cable up along the side and in the roof lining to the mirror.

Absolutely loving the radio, it was money very well spent.

@sav how did you run the cable past the steering wheel?

I tried taking the panel off and they seem to be quite easy to pop on and off.

What do you use to connect torque to the engines computer? Is it a wireless/ Bluetooth connection or is it a cable?

Hi

The mic cable goes to the left and up the passenger side. The GPS module is stuck behind the dash, also by the passenger side, if you remove the dash panel you'll see a hole/opening, it's stuck in there.

Picked up and installed my Asteroid Smart last week. It came with the Facia plates, Toyota Wiring harness and USB adapter for the stock USB port.

Only thing I forgot to order was the radio antenna adapter but I really dont listen to the radio anymore.

Otherwise this thing is just great. Ordered an OBD 2 Bluetooth unit and hoping like hell it works with Torque as is.

I ordered it through SMAC cape town. Forgot to check the packaging before I threw it out. But its still not a snug fit. Pops out at one of the to corners a little but works for now

I have the same faceplate and mine doesn't do that. Also ordered from SMAC Brackenfell.

Can you post some pics for comparison? They might've ordered different plates for me for whatever reason?

Does anyone know where in Cape Town I could get hold of a Blutooth mini elm327 unit? I' not really familiar with the auto/ parts shops in CT.

I'm not sure how you're fitting it, but I know they opened up the whole dash to do wiring to the rear camera and so on. Could be they had more opportunity to line things up when putting it back. I wasn't present when it was done so unfortunately I can't advise you how it was done.

I think I know what it is. Looks like you can adjust how far forward the unit sits on the brackets on the side that bolt the unit to the dash. I think your is further back allowing the facia plate to sit more inline.

Where did you get your rear camera from? does it turn on automatically when you reverse? Who installed it?

The dealer organised it. They said it was the place across the road. They did the fitting of the radio and the rear camera. I can get their details if you're interested. It was in Durban Road in Tyger Valley area. Lots of car related places there.
