It won't kill initial sales because you can always install TRD parts like a supercharger from the factory when they release it...

Happened with the Tacomas...

If there is to be a TRD supercharger kit I suspect, or rather I would like to think, it will be a centrifugal SC to keep the weight down and hopefully they would utilise a front mount IC over a top mounted one. I prefer the stealth look under the bonnet myself.

Still the thought of having a 300hp SC 86 is interesting to say the least.

hmm, this makes me want to save my pennies for another year so I can get the SC as soon as I get the car. Very tempting, I hope it pans out.

Pretty cool if true it would be nice to have the option of a whining FR-S. However I wonder how long it would take to make it here to the US.

its going to be interesting to see how they manage this... its obvious not a lot of boost could be added when using 12.5:1 CR, of course with a good tune anything is possible, but its still high compression and detonation is always likely.... so probably lowering compression would be ideal, maybe they will introduce this as a totally different car.
GT86 S or something

If they do make a supercharger it will be an add on one this car is release. I doubt it's going to be crappy like the S/C for the tC. They have a rep to keep up with this car. TRD supercharger will keep the factory warranty for the ft86/gt86/fr-s. BRZ might get their own version of the supercharger.

This is awesome news. Anybody who says they will just offer one after market has clearly never owned a modified cars before. Staying in warranty=FTW.

I think the TRD charger will be worthwhile. Since the SCION TC release, TRD has become a market ploy unrespected smelly turd. This is their chance to save their performance division and the whole point of the car.

best part: it's oem approved, so no warranty issues.

TRD can't mess this up or they will have a lot of people wishing toyota release the G sport version of the FT86.
