Ironic because yesterday I read an article about places in the US fining $50 for the first offense then $100 or $200 on subsequent offenses for sagging pants. The look doesn't bother me, personally, but I guess things can go beyond aesthetics to where they physically impede on the public. Like New York passed an ordinance against sagging pants for safety reasons. This vid ends saying to do what you want behind closed doors but to have respect for others when in public. So yeah, valid analogy.

Another valid point. I had a car lowered just under 2". One time while driving through an unfamiliar area I came onto an unexpected dip where I suddenly hit the brakes to avoid scraping my front lip. That forced an old Civic behind me to brake hard screeching their tires (no ABS) then swerved around almost losing control to avoid hitting me. Angling over dips/speed bumps for the 5 years I owned it got old. That whole low and slow experience helped me decide to drop my BRZ only 0.6" this time.

When I was a kid I cared more about looks than practicality. Today, I still care about looks (I'm not that old lol) but also try to apply a bit more practical sense to my mods.

Haha... This reminded me of my friend who's in Royal Origin with his Herrafrush IS250.

I was meeting up with some food truck and I was behind him as he turned into the plaza. There was a car that was relatively far enough for me to turn in with no problem but my friend took FOREVER to get over the damn driveway that I drove around him (it was a really big drive way) because if I had waited for him to finish doing some weird olympic-moving-car-sideways I probably would've gotten hit (that is if the other driver wasn't paying attention) but I didn't and drove around.

Needless to say he was super pissed but I told him.. "you're goin too slow man.." and he laughed. :P

I tend to do this with my cars at stock or near stock ride height... majority of railroad crossings are half assed laid and I like my alignment specs. Is a bus impractical because of this? They have to come to a complete stop prior to crossing...

Btw I like how the car looks, but not so much with the huge negative camber tho.. Funny all the cars shown drifting and racing that are hella low.. Still don't have all that ridicules amounts of camber..
I slow down for most train tracks, but most railroad crossings by me are bad enough to make my van bottom out at the speed limit. On the very rare occasions that I have had to slow down a lot for something I've thrown on my hazards... It all comes down to whether or not the owner is an idiot, it's easy to make a car so low or flush that it's difficult to drive, but it's very difficult to tell if that is the case with a car just by looking at a picture. If they put time into making everything fit and work right then the car should drive like any other car. But if they slapped on some cheapo coilovers and random sized wheels then there's a good chance the car will ride like shit, drive like shit, and be rubbing and scraping all over.

I slow down for railroad crossings no matter what. That point is completely irrelevant. I'm not about to go 55mph over a train track and blow out a tire.

There is like ONE track I could go over a little faster than others because it is not complete garbage near me, but I still go over it slow. Force of habit, I guess.

Sooo you slow down to say 5 mph in let's say a 45mph zone????

I MIGHT slow down depends on the bump or track.. I've been a ASE tech for years.. One of them certificates is in the steering and suspension, and I promise a regular set of tracks don't throw an alignment off..

That point isn't irrelevant.. If your the dumb ass that damn near stops at rail road tracks to creep over them because your car is so low you have no choice.. It's an impractical car.. If you have scout teams that ride in front of you, it's an impractical car.. If you have to drive around a whole parking lot to find the lowest point to enter, it's an impractical car..

At the import tuner meet, there was this stupid hella flush kid, stopped just barely creeping over a set of tracks, and a guy in a white Lamborghini murci just drives right by.. He slowed down a bit, but really a Lamborghini just drove buy you on the tracks, yeah.. Your looking cool bro..

I'm not sure how much I slow down by, but I go slow over them. Not 5mph slow, but still err with caution.

I am lowered, but like I said that has nothing to do with it. Its irrelevant because I slow down anyways. I didn't say anything about an alignment being thrown off?

I do not slow down either in a parking lot. Then again I am not the norm and I can just hit a button if I need clearance lol, but even at my driving height that is never the case.

Maybe tracks by you are different, but the ones near me are complete shit. You can call me a dumbass all you want, but I will continue to go slowly over railroad tracks, and guess what, if someone runs into me its their fault for not paying attention. If they cannot see my brake lights or my 4 way flashers going over a railroad track (which you should be slowing down for ANYWAY to make sure a train isn't coming - if you get blasted by a train and the signals/arm doesn't come down its YOUR fault as you are still suppose to look both ways before crossing) then they are the dumbass, not me.

Don't assume things man.

Don't assume everything in my post was directed to you... I made a generalization you took it personal.. @omar gc is the one that made the comment about alignment, and there are some bad tracks around me.. I slow down for them.. Again you think I'm talking about you personally.. I'm talking about the people that slow down to 2mph, hit the tracks and drive through two or three lanes to get over them and at a creeping speed.. That's impractical.. I'm not suggesting anyone slam into tracks at speeds that can damage cars.. I'm saying if you have to creep over tracks sideway at 2mph... That's impractical.. Running over a set of normal tracks won't damage your car.. Won't knock off alignment, running over jacked up tracks is a different story.. I was using this as a case of impracticality.. Omar GC brought up busses.. Most places have laws for them to stop.. They are not worried about messing up the bus because they ruined their car and made it impractical..

Point is.. If you have to stop to go over tracks... Your shit is impractical... That's it.. Get butt hurt if you want..
