Obvious answer is that it's not generic.
You should have asked them what other cars they thought were generic or even what cars look like this ![]() I don't think they really know what "generic" is.

Based on the sheer number of "what they hell is that" questions I have been asked while driving it I would say it is anything but generic. When a soccer mom, 18 year old kid, 50 year old guy and more chase you down to ask you because they have never seen anything like it I would say that fails the "generic" test.

Well, good to know I'm alone thinking it looks like somebody squished a Prius and gave it plastic surgery to make the nose and ass look like a 300zx.

not generic at all. Seriously... our cars look awesome in the crowd. It's short, aggressive, low, and best of all... enjoyable.

Generic design? On the exterior no way, perhaps favoring a more minimalism approach but the curves are done very elegantly. Considering the cost of the car, you really can't complain.
When I think of a "generic" exterior design to cars which I wish the manufacturer provided a little more effort, the Evo and '13 Genesis Coupe come to mind (no offense to anyone who owns those.) |

A LOT of it has to do with color. Drive a red, orange or yellow (I know, custom paint) one and no one will tell you this car is generic. It looks aggressive as hell. Especially the Toyota/Scion version with the aggressive front bumper.

I like the looks of these cars.. They are not generic looking.. In fact I'm surprised at how good they look especially when u consider their price point...
Even more so when you consider the sporty nature of the car.. This car is bound to be a classic... Toyota is trying to break ground with young buyers in a segment where it's weak... So they are offering a lot of car for the money.. I think this is one of the best sports car bargains out there... Period.. Especially from a purists standpoint... RWD, light weight, boxer engine, Great handling... And affordable.. These are the good ole days! |
