Seriously guys? How can anyone even say one is better than the other, they are totally different cars.

The Civic is definitely more practical. He even admitted that he got caught up in the hype. I love my FRS, but it is by no means a car for everyone.

And yes, the Civic will "always be FWD" but I am sure the way half of the people on this forum drive, it really doesn't matter. I guarantee you that 75% of the people buying these cars will spend more time talking down to people with FWD cars than they will actually driving their RWD like it should be driven.

OP, good for you on getting over the hype and realizing that, for what you want, the BRZ isn't worth the compromises.

Stock for stock, my money would be on the Civic at the track.

I'd be willing to bet I have more track time in a BRZ/FR-S than 99.9% of the forum.

Youre right, from the performance standpoint. What if the guy doesn't care for it, or has 3 kids or wants better fuel economy?

I was gonna say reliability but I didn't want to kick him when he's down...

In a few years, FR-S/BNZ will be everywhere too. I already see 10+ a day during my commute...

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here Mike. Though the Civic Si is a great car numbers dont lie. An HFP Si couldnt take an FR-S on Prius tires.

I. The end the only thing that matter is the guy making the payment is happy.. I love my FRS, it's hard for me to complain about it.. I personally don't think the interior is cheap, or lacking.. It has everything I want and need.. Oh, shit.. Push button.. Damn it the car is junk, no push button start.. But really.. I drove a 13 SI.. It's a good car.. I personally don't think I'd ever own a Honda.. But that's a personal thing..

I thought a mag just did a comparison on a FRS to civic SI?? And the FRS murdered it.. But maybe I read wrong.. I have seen some fast civics, so know better then to say they are slow FWD crap.. But I still wouldn't trade my FRS in.. The louder noises in the FRS don't bother me, I have a 66 beetle with no carpet or sound deadening... That's loud lol

It's not about lap times, it's about having the most fun while driving it on the track.

I am also willing to bet that on a big track, a camry V6 will have more edge than a stock FRS. But does that matter?

I would love to gladly link many members that have had this car tracked 1 month after ownership..

Aslo... Civic over the BRZ??

I... I don't know what to say...

I had looked at several different cars before i bought my FR-S. At one point considered buying a civic Si, but for what i was wanting at the time the WRX was better suited. End result was the FR-S, because i no longer had a need for a 4 door/back seats like i did when i had first started looking, and wanted more fuel economy than the WRX could offer. Also had a friend pushing me into RWD, was more interested in AWD before he started showing me the differences. I still may buy a WRX eventually not for several years though lol.

8th gen civic > 9th gen civic still
the new civic feels very cheap in my eyes compared to the 8th gen
