No I haven't. Once my BRZ is back up and running I'll give it a try.

An italian company offers a unit identical to the Ca Fi 621000 unit. It's rebranded to 'Ekoore' and model name is Elija S2.

I assume it will be capable of running Torque as they offer the OBD2-USB interface as an accessory.

Well spotted @krikke

Bugger it won't run my HKS OB-LINK as that needs bluetooth.

Should be released in a month or so and they claim the unit will support OBD!!
In the teaser video they actually have Torque installed!

Also the screen appears to be capacitive and the UI looks really slick...

PLEAAAAASE make a universal model with red LED's!

It's still better then the 779 euro (999 usd) that Ca-Fi wants for their 621000.

No not yet...

But the video mentions the author and his shop: http://stores.ebay.com/BEST-CAR-DVD-PLAYER

His name is Peter Chan and since he is teasing us with a 'still to be released model' I am guessing he is or is linked directly to the manufacturer who sells this.

Also when you look at his other videos on Youtube, this guy must be involved in the first degree. There is some useful stuff among the things he posts:

http://www.youtube.com/user/pumpkinc...?feature=watch

I am planning on sending him an email somewhere next week related to that new capacitive unit. I hope I can get some additional information from him...

@2forme

I somewhere read (think it was xda) that rooting the unit significantly boosts up the booting time.
Since yours is rooted, can you confirm this? How long does it take from turning over the ignition key, until you hear the radio playing?

Also your bluetooth connection for Torque: is the datastream + dataspeed fast enough or do you notice delays/hickups while using Torgue gauges?

Many thanks!

Mine is rooted. My boot time did not improve. Takes about 45 seconds from turning the key to having radio on.

I gotta say though, radio reception is horrible with this unit. Almost unusable and I'm in Chicago with a strong signal.

I was initially hating this radio, but I'm warming up to it. It takes a bit of tweaking to get what you want out off it.
