Raceseng | Development FT86 | Build Thread

Hello!

My name is Jarrett Seng. I'm the owner of an autosports manufacturing company called Raceseng. We fully design and develop all of our own products out of our shop in Orefield, PA. Right near Allentown.

I just bought a pearl white FR-S last month to be our 2013 shop car and development platform. We plan to start using the car to develop and manufacture FT86/FRS/BRZ parts. I will be posting pictures of my FR-S build as we'll be prototyping and developing parts regularly.

So far, the only mods we have done are as follows:

• Rays Gramlights 57 Extreme 18 x 9.5 +40 offset
• Toyo Proxes R888 tires
• Cusco Street Zero Coilovers
• Neo Motorsports big brake kit - 6 piston front, 4 piston rear
• APR carbon fiber front lip, rear diffusers and side skirts
• Invidia exhaust

Current RACESENG parts that we are developing and testing:

• Billet aluminum tow hook
• Billet ft86 shift knob system
• Billet aluminum engine pulleys (alternator, crank, water pump, idler)
• Billet aluminum caster / camber plate system
• Billet aluminum oil fill cap and filter cover
• and more to come...

Here is a shot from Fresh Meet in Camden, NJ a few weeks back.

Here are some teaser shots of what we are working on. Stay tuned!

Interested in idler pulley. The stock looks to be plastic, but I'm interested to see how much weight can be shaved off there.

So far so good on the Cusco coil overs... My first choice was the KW V3 but they were out of stock. I installed them without touching the spring spanner or dampening settings and lowered the car. The ride was a bit rough so I checked the dampening and it has a total of 53 clicks, the coil overs came at 36 clicks in (clockwise). I backed them out and went to 25 clicks in and the ride is much better. The real test will be the track but some high speed on and off ramps really showed me how well the car handles!

If I were to do it all over again, I would have no problem going with the Cusco's again.

The idler pulley is in the works. I'm not sure how much weight we will be able to take out of it because the stock unit is lightened up pretty well.

Makes us proud! We have a lot of stuff in the works for the FR-S/BRZ platform. This is an exciting time for a small company like us!
