Which washer is better to use with the Fumoto valve? Crush washer or the cork washer it comes with?

i used the one that came with it. not leaks no problems

I also use the one that came with it.

I have the short nipple one and I track with it. No leaks or clearance problems so far.

I too use the blue one that came with it. No problems. Hand tightened it, then did about a quarter turn with a crescent.

use the supplied one. that's why they give it to you.

I also use the one that came with it. Works great no leaks.

As for which valve, the fumoto site has a car model selector to pick the right one. I think I ordered the shorty for the most clearance, it has a little nozzle thats about 1/4" long and came with a plastic nipple that clips on to attach a drain hose.

I have yet to do an oil change since I installed it some time ago, but not a single problem. The shop I go to took a look at it and said they've give me a $5 discount on oil changes. I take my own filter and oil so they just charge me $15 to do the work and take care of the waste. A bargain if you ask me. So the valve will have paid for itself in 3 oil changes.

If anyone is curious/concerned, the valve does not stick below the belly pan, and it has a firm spring holding the tiny lever in a notch to lock it in the closed position. You have to hold the lever up against the spring before the valve can open. The valve itself is very high quality and lever action is quite firm, so there's literally no opportunity for it to come open on its own or leak. I can't remember which direction the lever is clocked when its tightened down with the fumoto gasket, but I faintly remember thinking it was in a good position.

Now I only have to get the front of the car high enough for my arm to reach the lever and position a drain pan; with the filtwr up top, the rest is cake!
