Unsnap the tap and inspect the wire, it should cut through the rubber all the way to the wire. Try again either with a lower gauge tap, or try to really clamp it tight, and be sure the wire is sitting right in that metal groove. If this is your first time tapping you may want to practice on some spare wire first to get the hang of it.

So my diagram is correct tho?

And after it didnt work i didn't use a tap, we held wire to wire so it was a clear connection being made. That's wuts weird. Imma try and get my friends tester to see for sure wtf is up

Diagram looks fine. Should work. By wire to wire do you mean you unplugged the connector, and stuck the wire in the pin for the pink wire? If so....be like super careful....that's exactly how ecus get fried if even a strand of wire crosses to the green pin.

Seriously, don't try using a tester on the connector itself. You most likely will fry the Ecu. Just plug it into the dome light assembly and turn it to the door switch. If the dome light works fine with the door open, then it is your tap, or the wire running from the tap, or the connector at the switch.

ok ill test that out this weekend. just out of curiousity tho. since it sends the door signal too the door lights and i have the kit that has the wires runnin from dome to floors, why can i get the door signal from that wire since i know it clearly has power when the door is open

If I read this right, you have the phasetek kit with the connector which slides into the bulb slot, and you want to know why you cannot simply run the ground from that to the switch so you don't need to tap the dome light? You can do that i think. I chose to tap the pink wire instead so that my floor well lights are completely independent of the dome light.

ya i want ur setup, but what i ment was since the pink sends the door signal to the dome, and that wire sends it to the footwells (OEM phasetek way), shouldnt i be able to just tap that instead of pink so as to not risk frying my ECU?

The way the oem phasetek is set up the outgoing wires are only connected when the dome light is switched to door or on. So, yes you can use the ground wire from that setup, but the footwells will only come on when the dome light is on. (Well at least the door open part of it). To get the floor well lights to work independently of the dome light when the doors are opened you have to tap the pink wire.

Can I tap the pink at the bottom of the a pillar by the harness instead? Seems easier and less wires to run

finally got this all setup, but i dont recommend the ignition route. it's great since ur footwells will only use the stay on method when the key is in, but they dont work as door lights unless the key is in either. so i'd recommend sticking with the always power way and just dont be stupid and leave them on.

o and i found my issue. i was tapping the pink at the bottom of the harness, but it was the wrong pink (dark pink) didnt see the light pink in the back till today lol

Bought my leds from ijdmtoy. bought some cheap switch from home depot. took me about an hour honestly. taking apart the center consule took me the longest. just tapped into the cigarette lighter for power.
