I am a runner.

I have run in races like this one, and I can tell you that this hits incredibly close to home for me. I can also tell you that security at these events is difficult, at best. 100,000s of people, open courses, making sure every last detail is secure is almost impossible. My heart goes out to those and their families who have been injured and lost their lives doing something they loved.

I'd like to put out a call to suspend all judgement about what happened, who did this, etc., until more facts are known. Otherwise this will just devolve into a Us vs. Them thread with no real purpose. Please think before you post.

They found 2 more bombs and are being dismantled. Shit that's ridiculous.

Prayers go out to the 2 deceased and those injured or affected by this tragedy.

ESPN actually has coverage of it. I was in disbelief when I turned on the TV and they were talking about a bombing during the Boston marathon.

Authorities have a identified a suspect, who is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds.

Law-enforcement sources said at least the first explosion occurred in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel.

This was at JFK Library. No injuries of any sort confirmed or whether its related to the previous explosions at the marathon, but being treated as such.

horrific event today, was watching it as it happened on tv today

i hope they find the person/people responsible and serve justice to them!
