Multiple allotments for 2012?
Do you guys think most dealers will be alotted more BRZs than the current allotment for May - November? Most dealers around where I live are sold out for the current allotment, such that I'm assuming most dealers in the US are sold out. We know that the US should be getting about 500 BRZs a month starting the end of April or May, for an initial total of about 3500 cars (500/mo x 7 mo).....yet this recent press release by Subaru (http://media.subaru.com/index.php?s=43&item=312) states that as of April 2012 there has just been over 1000 preorders. So this means either most dealers will be alotted more cars this year, or that on average dealers in the US only have 25-30% of their 2012 allotment filled.

well... if we go by numbers of just the people who
pre-order(WAITLIST) on the Subaru BRZ then the first batch is pretty much gone, so best of luck in the months ahead finding one at MSRP or lower. Bigger dealerships in metropolitan areas are getting BRZ in double digits while smaller dealerships are getting 10 or less.

The first Batch is not necessarily all called for. Manchester Subaru was allotted something like 49, and only have 6 or so pre-orders. Supposedly the allotments were based on WRX sales, so New England got a bunch, but I think it will be less popular here, due to people worrying about snow/winter driving with RWD.

According to a local dealer they have 3 pre-orders and the rest are for the showroom floor and they expect to get 15 for the year. They also said showroom floor models will be available before or with pre-orders.
Also, is there isnt a BRZ in your area I'm sure the dealer can just acquire one from anywhere in the country. Does anyone know if this is possible? |
