I just took the day off work. I didn't want to risk driving since I have my summers on now.

Each day that goes by I love the tune more and more. With this tune and my light wheels the car is like a whiole different car. (Wheels are 4+ lbs lighter on each corner than stock) |

I'd really like to try a tune on this car. I had one written for the Mustang when it was N/A, and it was much nicer to drive vs stock.
I think I'll try putting the summer tires back on (again) this weekend. I know what you mean about the lighter wheels...I had the stock ones on for a few days this week, and the car felt a lot more snappy vs the steelies/snows. I should weigh the difference just out of curiosity.

My dealer just called to tell me the TRD intake arrived this morning. Can't wait to start turning wrenches.

anyone found some nice cheap low weight track rims yet? 17s would probably be best for track that way rubber is cheaper!

Why do try things on my own?
Got some nice led reverse light bulbs and tried to install them One went ok but the other has a shorter lead on one side so it wants to flicker and come loose I tried it anyway and sure enough it fell into the housing ![]() Soooo I had to remove the housing... What a pain in the ass! I got the loose bulb out and now it sits in the garage half undone - I can't get one of the 2-piece fasteners back in.... So bummed that a stupid little thing like that ate up almost 3 hrs and it isn't done yet Sigh Going back to conventional bulbs anyway I need a clear warm dry sunny day - just a few please I'll try my hand at hids tomorrow and putting that rear light assy back together (oh and I busted a bit of plastic on the bottom of that housing to boot )

Sorry to hear that Ken. Sometimes it is the "little" jobs that are the most frustrating. It will go better in the morning...usually helps to walk away for a little while. Is it one of the push pins that you can't get back in?
I pulled the snows/steelies off and put the stockers back on (again). Installed the TRD airbox kit.

@roddy - yes push pin
I'll loosen the bolts and then try it - side holes are less tolerant to mislocation |

I remember those pins being pretty tight as well. I had mine out to put rubber washers on 'em when I was hunting down rattles and buzzing sounds.

Parts
Ordered the parts to install starter button, auto start and trunk button and fog light. Anyone in Ottawa done these yet?
Also does anyone have the TRD exhaust or air intake installed. I'm planning on getting the intake but I don't want to dish out a thousand on the exhaust if it sounds terrible the price is nuts... I had a focus with a MBRP one before and it was ridiculously loud +95db in combo with the air intake and bigger throttle body... If it sounds brutal I'd rather just get replacement tips from Perrin... In case anyone is interested. Motortrend Update 7 TRD parts.. http://wot.motortrend.com/2013-scion...#axzz2QUGyyJne |
