I'd run out of time before I could finish the cars I'd buy before the LFA.. not tht it's not a great car, but it's not the kind of car I'd want.

Had it came out looking like v2/v3 and not a rwdScion TC, it would have most certainly been intended for me as a great daily driver.
When they started talking about making the ECU tunable, I already started thinking about bit banging and backwards engineering so that I could write a gui that would flash the ecu serially. Now that's just a pipe dream as I'm not settling for unappealing and underpowered, I can be reasonable and settle for one of those, not both. Quote:

I don't read about Porsches, BMWs, Mercs, Audis, Ferraries, etc...
Because to me they're all dead... I'm the same way, when Toyota came out with the LF-A, all that info sailed right over my head... I'm not a big gearhead, so I only keep myself intuned to what I have a shot at obtaining and what it'll be pitted against... LF-A have been said to be nothing more than a tech marvel, it isn't really a bargain at the asking price... Same with the Veyron, it was a car done purely because it can be done, doesn't make it a great sports car... Or something I'd buy even if I can afford it... I'd buy a fleet of GT-Rs before I get one of thems

GTE, I know you don't like the way it looks, but honestly this does not appeal to you?
![]() I mean heck that thing is beast! Not only that, but if this car becomes the rwd Civic, trust me there'll be body kits, there'll be ways to express yourself... The coolest thing about forums like this and cars in general is that you can always personalize and make things your own... Back in the 90s, despite Civics being a Civic, there are very many unique ones out there because the choices were out there... Like I said, don't be so near sighted, open up and experience it in the light of the aftermarket... |

We get it, you don't like the car. The car you want is not what this car is or was ever supposed to be. Your post really serves this forum no service and I for 1 would'nt spend my time posting on a forum of a car I don't like.
That said, no need to be rude guys. Opinions differ and we are all free to have our own. Just ignore these kinda posts if they bother you and quit letting them waste your time. |

Not really ... I'm all about aftermarket, but I'm not going to fix the body and the engine, it's going to be one or the other.
I know Toyota is going after the tuner market, because they made it a Scion and they said the ECU will not use proprietary protocols like Toyota's in the past ... it'd be great if this was this decades Civic, I just don't have the time to spend on redoing the whole car, I might as well not buy it if I go into it thinking I'm going to have to do that. If this were my only sports car then maybe, but it isn't. Like I said earlier, if it looked nice like the v2/v3 I could stomach it being underpowered. Toyota put steak on the menu, and it served pit beef. If they had started with pit beef all along, it might not be such a let down. Quote:

Cool, more people can go Subaru then and wait in line for their glamour interiors so they can drive around and feel like they're super cool with digital climate control and rear seats that only function as a resting place for tossing goods quickly back there from the front.
More available Scions for the actual drivers. Scion, you clever devils! No seriously, I honestly can't remember the last time I looked at the rear seats in my AE86 and said "Damn...you know, those were made cheaply...why did I even buy this car?"

Everyone is indeed entitled to their own opinion and especially after the Scion unveiling, there has been an increase of more disappointed members. You guys should have gotten a clue the moment they announced it as a Scion here in the US. The focus was to help revive Scion as a brand and keep the cost low. I always find it amusing when people reference the Five Axis FR-S!

If you don't like the 86, that's fine. Don't get bent that it's not something else.
