For US pricing I completely agree with you. The current Mustang and 2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0T are setting the bar, it's up to Scion/Subaru to meet it.

I'm ok with all of the cheapness, as long as I can add the options later on. I'll pay an extra grand for the nicer HVAC, I'll pay an extra couple grand for the leather/alcantera seats, steering wheel, gauges, etc. I just don't know if they will even offer them as options, especially with how scion only seems to offer accessories, not options. If I can add those things as options, I'm a happy camper. I commute 150 miles round trip everyday for work. Call me materialistic, but I want all the amenities I can get, and after all the college I have done, now that I finally have a full time job, this car is my graduation present to myself, and I want it fully loaded.

I don't get it, if your willing to pay an extra $1000 for HVAC and $2000 more for leather and gauges then why not just buy the Subaru?

I think a lot of the forum noobs need to go buy themselves a 2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0T. It has every single thing the whiners want but I'm certain they won't because they are too stupid to realize that brand identity purchasing is RETARDED!

The GC 3.8 was my other option even if it is a Hyundai. It's the first Hyundai I like a lot.

I find most all of this funny, read the thread from the event. I was there, the red car they displayed was a base model car. Cloth, keyed start, HVAC, non HID head lights. The car will be cheaper then the Subaru's mid 25K base price. If you want more luxo items, spec it up like you can with EVERY OTHER SCION PRODUCT. The VP basically said flat out that pretty much ALL of the FRS price speculation on the forum was pretty bogus and that most people will be "pleasantly surprised". He could not be specific but I wouldn't get your panties in a bunch about what the car comes with at the entry level price point. If you want more, it will be available. The base head unit is the same head unit you get on every other 2012 Scion product. All of the head units they display on the website will be just as easy to spec as they are for an xB or tC.

It's absolutely not retarded when you work on and build things for your vehicles.

I know that Toyota pulses it's tach wire twice per revolution, I know that I can control the VVTI cam phasing with a darlington NPN transistor, because it pulls 1.2amps through the solenoid. I know that they use 36-2 for the crank trigger wheel, I know how they design their pistons and their heads. I could go on and on.

RETARDED is when you think you know everything, make a generalization and then someone comes along and shows you something obvious that you overlooked.

I can agree with everything except they really bowed out in the asthetics department, which is ok in most cases, except for when you produce something so beautiful as a 2nd or 3rd concept version, that can actually be sold, because it isn't so far from reality that it doesn't have room for crash/safety required equipment.

And that's what set me off.

if a supra is what you wanted i think you should have realized that was never something this car would offer. from the day it was announced i think the majority of the people who first registered here realized this was to be a cheap car that truly puts the driver in the driver's seat. that's all i expected from this car and i'm confident in saying that it's exactly what we got.

I will be having my seats removed any way.One seat only, is all I require. No stereo system, at most ac, and heat everything else besides the basic its going to be stripped away. So does not matter to me if it comes with cloth seats that are washable or leather heated seats. And I especially hate push to start buttons. That has to go too! I have an modified starter module that reads your thumb print to start.

I would if I can get the front end of the Toyota. May be it will be possible.

I'm a little surprised that people are so extreme here, won't it be good to have options? Some wants them, some don't and everyone could be happy.

Of cause, nothing final has been "officially" announced, so will probably wait and see.

Same here.

Seems to me like the people complaining are the ones who'd actually plunk down the extra cash for the nicer hardware. See above.

Same...fingers crossed that the nicer GT86 stuff will be an option on the FR-S.

My guess is the big black plastic strip on the front is the 800 pound gorilla in the room.

Well for those that can afford it, don't ruin it for the ones that can't...

If you can truly afford the best of the best LFA
