The sales person I bought from mentioned there was a limited amount being made. Something like 8%. I dont know how accurate that is but im sure there was some research done to come to that decision.

Just curious. If I had the choice, I would go Lava or Firestorm at this point.

Personally, I think it looks great as long as I don't have to look at it every day. If the FR-S was my second car, maybe...

Hot Lava was the only choice for me. If there hadn't been a Hot Lava, I probably would have picked blue. No interest in the other colours.

My first choice was Hot Lava, I ordered it and I waited for it(3-4 weeks)and it is an amazing colour. The fact that it has red flashes on the seats is probably a build compromise for the North American product order as I believe you can get orange accents on the GT 86 in Japan. I honestly don't even notice, the interior is the interior the exterior!

I wouldn't want any other colour!

I've seen one 86 in hot lava on a sunny day and it looked great but the dull day descriptions are a put off.

Coming towards me the other day was a late model MX5 that had been repainted in a very classy yellow. That rich yellow that looks very thick for some reason.
I realised that my pearl white 86 would also look stunning in the same colour.

Well orange looks cool too!
Makes you wonder who and how they make the choices for a particular market?

The orange and purple are Special editions just to blow out the old model. The new Corolla starts production in late July. Toyota always has some crazy colour for the model when introduced if you can remember 1st year Matrix came in lemon yellow

When I got mine when it was in the showroom and I just fell in love with it. Dealership offered me a whiteout auto I told them I'll wait for a manual and I asked for the hot lava manual. Had to wait another 2 months but glad I did.

And through the early 90's!.. Hot Lava is today's 'TEAL' color back then. I wouldn't buy a Hot Lava even if the dealer gave me a $2-3K discount on it.

Lava was my second choice in the FR-S stock palate. The Whiteout/Perl just looked right.

My van is Champaign / Sand / Driftwood kind of metallic. I bought that on purpose. It's already dirty.
I used to wash it at least twice a year, but I think it's been about 7 years since it's last bath.
Still looks new believe it or not. I clean the pad dust off the wheels once in a while.

No way I'd buy a red sports car, it draws too much attention from cops. Black is boring, yet never out of fashion, plus (I think) it makes the frs appear a little meaner/ leaner.
