S2000 FTW..

But seriously, the S2000 is a great car despite being made a decade prior. There's just a sense of excitement that cannot be replicated by the FR-S/BRZ. If you're planning to DD the s2000, I would recommend a OEM hardtop and secure alarm at the very least. Although my AP1 is almost 9 years old since I bought it, it still gives me that joy and pleasure when I first drove it. The build quality of the interior is phenomenal, which would include the highly desirable leather seats every honda fan boy wants in their civics/integras. I may come off bias, but after driving several cars in my lifetime which include a boxster S, 370z and e92 m3. Nothing quite puts a smile on my face like the S2000.

And yes, I have driven the BRZ before. It was fun and definitely carries similar driving genetics as the S2000. For a modern sports car at under $30k, its an absolute clear winner, but since you're getting an s2000 for free, its a no brainer...

P.S. I apologize for my lack of grammar and literary dynamics, english isn't my first language. Thank you

I've heard great things from people who daily NSX's. Plus, those cars are in pretty high demand. If you ever wanted to sell, you'd get at least 55K for a NA2.

Hmm I think that maybe different wheels and coil-overs on the BRZ will have a slightly better improvement. Not bad tho for a car with -40hp

Like I said before... Why people insist to compare the S2000 with the FRS/BRZ? First of all that car was descontinued and second the base price of the S2000 was $10000 more expensive than FRS is. With that amount of money invested on after market parts on the FRS it kills for sure that thing of the past XD. PS, I love the S2000 too.

So a couple days ago I purchased a used 2004 S2000, all stock except for Bilstein PSS9 coilovers. Comparing it to the few times I've test driven an FR-S, I'd say there are many, many things in common in both cars (as stated countless times by almost everyone who has driven both). However, what appeals to me about the S2K is its more unadulterated, raw driving feel. It's not about comfort, it's about performance and handling. While the 86 is well-rounded in all areas and makes for one of the best daily driver + weekend car + track tool combinations on the market, I suggest for people looking at a 2nd car to consider the S2000 instead. My daily is an A3 Sportback with a Stage 1 tune and intake, and it works wonderfully for my purposes. Its 2.0T with almost 300 ft*lb torque pulls all 3200+ lb with ease, and its rolling start acceleration is more impressive than the S2000's, making it easy to pass other cars on the freeway. But in the end it's a practical FWD hatchback with low engine sound, a super light clutch and almost no steering feel, and I think I would have regretted it if I got an FR-S as my 2nd "fun" car, since it's just a bit too refined for what I want in a performance car. The S2000 feels more edgy, and that's a good thing for me. That being said, I still gawk every time I see an FR-S/BRZ on the road.

Just my 2 cents.

I will say this...wheel options on the FRS/BRZ are a lot friendlier than the s2k!

I wouldn't spend money on a new car if you have a very capable alternative, in immaculate, condition available to you. S2000.

If Honda comes out with a new version of the S2000, I may have to trade up for it. Love the BRZ, but so far I liked the engine and shifter in my old 2006 Civic Si a bit more. I'm not saying I want my old car back over the BRZ, but if Honda makes a new rear wheel drive sports car I may have to go back to Honda.

Oh man wish I can inherit a free s2k haha, but if the brz/frs didnt come out, I wouldve gotten a s2k, only thing was i'd rather have new than used car for same price range. Plus the money you saved on the twins you can use towards your car

I feel the same way. As much as I love my car, I'd definitely trade for a new rwd/mt two door Honda.
