ChrisB@borla.com

My old leaky header got quiet after a while, but it just stopped leaking to atmosphere and was still leaking between exhaust ports which can't be good for performance

Yes, but it doesn't always come on right away.

As one who could repair said flange himself, I'd be interested in a half price bent flange header.. lol.

I have emailed Chris. This is a strange issue for them. Ive used there products for years, and my father swears by them. I hope they fix the issue, accidents happen, i hope this dosent scare to many people off. Who knows maybe ebay will get a large amount of slightly bent headers for cheap, for those who can bend them straight.

Borla is sticking behind these guys as you can see. Bent ones are being replaced. We got an EL unit in and it's flawless. Last UEL we sent out I checked the flanges and they were within spec so I would say things are on there way to be being 100% corrected.

i hope the headers i ordered didnt succomb to this bent flange ordeal. They have been sitting in my garage back home since ive been depoloyed. I dont want to return home and have the hoard of parts waiting to be installed and have to send the headers off for replacement after waiting an additional month to recieve them.

Borla Headers Flange

I got mine this morning.

Both manifold flanges are almost flat perfect and I'm confident that with the Grimmspeed gasket 22% thicker than OEM it should seal just fine but I am still disapoint with one of the flange you will see on the pictures above with the red circle zone..

What is your opinion on this ? Do you think this may cause a leak ?

On the other side, the flange that goes from the headers to the overpipe is warped like all the others I suppose. I'm going to try to find a machine shop around here that could help me with this.

Hell no, I wouldn't install that header with that kind of grinding down around the pipe entries. If you put the gasket up against that, the ground down area will surely extend past the firing rings on the gasket, which are what create the seal.

It look like it is a lot of grinding to me...But I am not an expert at all...

I would like to know the opinion from Chris or Alvin at Borla on this....

Good lord that grinding looks terrible, hold up a gasket to it and check if it will seal. Mine will, but just barely. The grinding on your header looks like it will not, but check with a gasket anyways
