So how is the ride quality for DD? Does it soak up tiny bumps and remove the roughness present in the stock setup? My next mod is suspension mainly to get rid of the bouncing and slop. Maybe a demonstration is in order since I pass by that parking lot in your photo on a daily basis.

I can't make up my mind from RCE Yellows vs Mach V springs vs Konis or not vs waiting for a reasonably priced Ohlins setup (I have Ohlins on my motorcycle and they are friggin' incredible). Man, being financially responsible while owning this car is difficult!

Your welcome to come check out my car, just got my Koni/RCE setup in this weekend. Full soft was very similar to stock but with less rebound (bounciness) Now I’m rolling with 1 turn F/R firmer and it good for DD duties...AutoX coming up ill prob do to 1.5/2 turn.

I just did my Koni's with stock springs and I already feel the difference. I have them set a t 1 full tire from stiff for daily driving and I might change it a bit for my event. Unfortunately I can't do the springs just yet since I want to stay in the Stock class. I am running on Nitto NT-05's right now because i missed the chance for NT-01's on sale at 160 a piece. First auto x event in this sunday, april 14th and I can't wait to see the huge difference in tires and suspension. Sunday can't come fast enough!

I just have the RCE yellow springs and it makes a world of difference over stock springs. Steering feels more responsive and it does soak up the tiny bumps. I pass one section of ridiculous uneven pavement on my drive to work and driving over that section now I am not jarred around anymore. Drop on the RCE's is not huge, but it is noticeable.

Just a little FYI for people thinking about buying either of these parts. I read this thread and decided to look around at prices to see how much stuff would cost as I'd like to do this. On brz-parts.com (aka circuit motorsports) I found the Koni Yellows for $535 (with $30 s/h) and the RCE Yellow Springs for 309 (free s/h) so it's only costing $873.95 after shipping. I couldn't pass up that deal so I bought it.

There are some places where you can find the konis for less than we have them listed, but that is because those vendors are not direct with Koni. The nice thing about being direct with them is if you ever have an issue with a koni product I call up my friends there (I know the Koni guys personally) or I drive down to their US headquarters (30 minutes from our shop) and get you a replacement that same day. No one else on this board or any other can offer you this service due to our relationship and proximity to koni. The entire Koni damper project came about because of our relationship with them. We are still running the very first prototype set of konis ever made for the BRZ on our car. We are also working with them on some very cool new products!

I am a firm believer in buying from and supporting the companies who have helped facilitate the engineering and testing of products for our vehicles.

These companies have worked hard and with a passion to help produce quality parts. I am willing to pay a little more to support these companies in further developments of quality, and TESTED, parts.

Just saying.... :-)

Great review Grimlock - I installed the RCE yellows on stock shocks and love them.

Out of curiosity, I am in the area too. Which autox did you attend?

Thanks!
The two autocrosses that I mentioned in the OP were Autocrossers Inc events in Waldorf. Next weekend there's a CDC event at Bowie on 4/20, but I won't be able to make that one.
