That's good that you went the "extra mile" to accommodate the 50% of the country who has to deal with salty roads for half the year

Try driving in New England for a winter and ask me why we need a large bottle.

2forme, I have pretty much left you alone and let you be you. Even though your style is very coarse and primarily "Devil's Advocate", I do believe you mean well. I even appreciate your extreme sarcasm and constantly harsh posts to an extent, but please don't attempt to make it sound like an extra $150 in parts is somehow slighting the consumer in some way. The kit initially was not going to come with a reservoir at all. Taking that 50% of the country into account is exactly what we did when we added it back in...for free. My friend, the glass is not always half empty.

Well for that (including for free), I say thank you. My sarcasm is a bit dry today.

I personally got irritated when you came across acting like Vortech did it out of the kindness of their hearts. It's a business, no one takes a 150$/unit hit unless they can raise their volume considerably, like appealing to a market with snowy climates. That said, Vortechs decision to upgrade existing customers for free on both the bottle and the compressor IS awesome. I actually think very highly of the company.

Thanks for your reply Brian, however I don't feel it has much scientific substance. If the Vortech kit requires critical path flow to this extent to make its numbers then I think i'll be looking elsewhere.

Not all of us want the world to know what we buy, and sometimes its as simple as cowering in fear of loosing your warranty, like the dealership wont know when the pop your hood. I dont get these guys who mod and want to keep it hush hush and pretend their is stock when they make their dealer appt.

Internet posts are that, can be far from the truth. I gotta keep my big mouth shut, again.
Guys who own the kit pretend they dont, it erks me tho

what a world.

anyways, I dont quite get 2forme's game but I still I like him, we talk off line, he's a great guy. For the record.
I'm glad to hear he is happy with the direction he is going(ehm)

Every FMIC wants to be kept cool to make the most power. What do you mean critical path flow? Vortech have made an neat clean engineering choice over and over.
Look closely at 2forme, as he is tearing away at Vortech, and he's one of those that wont say what he has under the hood. Not now not a month from now. Do you know what I know? You dont KNOW what he has under the hood, all we go by is the way he posts. Smart guy 'having fun with the internet' LOL

We all lurk here, some are more candid than others when playing devils advocate as Brian so subtly points out.....good one!!
I am not here to blow his cover, but his interest in this kits interest 2forme has passed his 'shopping' state. I heard 'he has a friend' who got a Vortech kit', tho LOL

We all have to decide what we want people to know about what we run. I am pretty clear about what I run and support.

I like 2forme, I just dont see his mudding the water point for 'a kit (ehm) his buddy spent money on. Ask him to pop his hood, and the can of worms he is will unfold.
Just saying do a search
I'm at the track, sorry I cant reply today, l8r...

Aye aye aye. I wasn't muddying the waters. I explained the reasoning behind my sarcasm. Had nothing to do with kits performance.

I get what you're saying, but optimized doesn't necessarily mean critical path. Critical path implies the whole system would be roadblocked if they didn't route the way they did.

They're looking to get every bit of power out of an optimal flow, that's not critical path.

That said, I like the engineering behind this kit, I like the Vortech guys, and I like that there are several tuners that know their way around this kit. This one's at the top of my list unless something seriously better comes out soon.

Roughly four to five hours.

I've given both our guys a pretty good deal on installs, but 6-8hrs would be a pretty good labor timeframe. The video we did took a bit longer than that, but we also had a drift car getting work done and of course the video-related time.

I'll see with the next kit (possibly next week, but most likely after Formula D) how fast we can do it, but I say a competent shop shouldn't have any problem knocking it out in a day and charging for that. Not exactly a "drop it off and wait while it's done" project though (that drives me nuts lol).

just having fun with this

A close look at his posts shows he has revealed NOTHING to ANYONE about what he buys runs, tests who he works with etc.hmm. odd for a guy so 'into' HP and TQ

Please forgive me, but with my level of transparency, the question does come back to his posts, his position on product, and you need to put that in perspective with....

whats under your hood bro?
ehm
what exhuast? suspension?
where is HIS dyno chart?
LOL

what dyno did he use and what was his altitude?
LOL
LOL
no cant stop
LOL

so yah
POP DA HOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDZZZZZZ
Don't get me wrong, I was not taking a jab at you. I just made a funny comment about it. I have a good idea of his choices, but i understand what you mean, it is not written in paper. Some people like to be completely open about their build and some others like to be hush hush quiet about it. None are wrong. :happy0180:

Edit: I honestly don't know if you REALLY want him to pop the hood, might Pandora's Box!!
