I am personally waiting to see more data on the wastegated option. This looks very promising for my vehicle as it is daily driver 90% of the time and track avenger 10% of the time.
The waste gate (or bleed valve) will allow this scenario for example: 1. Install 15 psi pulley kit 2. Tune for 15 psi on 93-95 octane or 100 octane (whatever is in your budget) 3. Set the wastegate to hold 10 psi 4. Re-tune for 91 crap gas 5. For daily driving cruise around on 10 psi 91 octane tune 6. When at the track, add the appropriate amount of 100 octane, switch maps, and reset the wastegate to hold 15 psi. (You can do this by a boost controller or for the bleeder valve you can just adjust the screw) |

If you choose a tuner kit, same deal install parts and load their flash. And then do follow up data logging using your laptop, supplied software and email the tuner your data log and they will adjust the tune if needed. Or you can choose a tuner kit, get the Ecutech gear needed to tune and work with someone to make their own flash. (Lot more work)

Makes sense. I used to have a wrx so I was used to already having the turbo, and dealing with all of the maintenence. I guess what i'm really asking is, will I be able to drive my car with the vortech setup without having to worry about any serious issues down the road? granted that I don't abuse the car. I've seen a lot of people upgrade their pulley with the vortech install, but should I be worried about the clutch or anything else? |

Would like to see a comment on this from vortech for us track junkies:
Tuner Kits and Supercharger Options Tuner kits are the same as complete systems except without the fuel system upgrades or ECM reprogramming. This allows for custom tuning and fuel modifications that the custom tuner or racer may prefer. Vortech has supercharger options for various types of racing or boost level. For continued use, such as road racing, the V-2 series superchargers share the engine's oiling system. This approach is more suitable for continued boost conditions and allows for the addition of an oil cooler or filter. Call the Vortech Tech Line for complete information on the many upgrades and options available. Source: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/page.php?id=30120 Would a V2 unit bolt in to the existing kit or would we have to wait till you produced a V2 kit? |

I have an interesting question, for those who swapped from the old design to new, is a retune necessary? If not, is it safe to drive on the old tune until a retune is able to be had?

Chances are that an updated tune is necessary, but in working with Perrin and Visconti on the upgrade, they both had the product in hand ahead of time. Therefore, upgrade tunes were already available on the day of release.

Ahhh, sorry. You want to use the stock reservoir. I thought you were under the impression you lost the reservoir entirely.

An optimized air pathway in our system required the factory reservoir to be removed. When people started requesting a replacement reservoir, we went the extra mile and designed and included a replacement bottle arrangement (and we didn't even raise the price!). |
