I'm trying to find some plasti dip locally (seems harder and twice as expensive to find in Canada...)

If I can either find bronze, gold, or gun metal I'll do my rims on my Firestorm just to see what it looks like

If you have an Auto Electric or Home Hardware near by you can get it for about 11-15 dollars a can

Or at Lowes...for 24

I can use the canada equivalent but it still comes out to 17 a can with shipping. We'll see though trying to get a hold of a local supplier and see if I can get better pricing. Going to try either bronze or gold on a firestorm if I can

My results...

My wheels are Monets... Looks good from afar but up close, far from good. But you really have to get close to see the flaws.

Not bad for a first attempt, I expect my painting technique really needs work. Reminds me of the semi-flat gold Rota Formels I had on my WRX wagon.

No close ups... didn't want to ruin my day.

I think the biggest problem that I had was trying to get all the spokes done evenly. I started off just shooting at 90 degrees and doing non-overlapping passes, it worked for the most part, but the sides of the spokes didn't come out the way I liked, but when I tried to paint each spoke, it went on way too heavy and started to cause runs.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to actually approach the painting part for those of us who are beginners at this type of thing?
