I would not ride this bike int that condition on the highway. It's not substantial damage but it isn't exactly minor either. I would remove it before riding.

I don't know what the NADA price on the bike is, but I did a quick search on the fairing. First one I found was on [ame="http://www.amazon.com/2008-2012-Genuine-Kawasaki-Fairing-55054-5124-G3/dp/B0064O4X5Y/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_5"]Amazon [/ame](of all places) for $250. for one side. Not sure it covers the entire damage since I've not seen a 250r in person.

At minimum, I'd find out from a local shop how much it would cost to have them replace it, then I'd want about twice that off the bike or the seller needs to fix before I would purchase.

I'd also want to inspect the bike (or have someone inspect it) with the fairing off, at the seller's cost or effort. I'm going to hazard that this wasn't a "oops I forgot to put the kickstand down" accident (fairings are usually scuffed up but not broken in multiple places from that) so there may be damage underneath.

I've purchased cars and bikes with cosmetic damage and fixed it, but you've got to make sure that is all it is.

I checked out the Atlanta craigslist. There are a few for sale with low miles in that range. Many of them have not been dropped. Those Ninjas run for ever so I wouldn't be scared with anything under 10k miles. Just have it checked out first if you're concerned.

Call local dealers too and tell them what you're looking for. You might find someone helpful.

Is that the only damage that you see on the bike? It doesn't look too serious since the turn signal stalk is still there. Usually those are the first things to go break when the bike is dropped. They looked cracked indicating a drop and not scuffed from a low side.

It's a tough call b/c those fairings would be a lot more $$ since they are a pearl white. I would use the damage as leverage to go lower than 3K if you really, really want it.

@Ahernandez0909 did you end up getting the bike?

I have been spending time on ADVrider forum looking at pictures from peoples' long distance trips. Looks like so much fun!

Found some pics of a track event at Oregon Raceway Park. It was Reg Pridmore's CLASS rider training. My first trackday experience and it was AWESOME. Highly recommended to any moderately experienced rider.

I've actually been looking for a 2010 Speed Triple SE for a little while, they are nearly impossible to find though.

Its that time of year....when people start looking for bikes!

Im thinking of getting one....REALLY REALLY want a Daytona 675R....those bikes just ooze sexy....dat white....idk.

First (street!!!) bike so im trying to convince myself the new Ninja 300s will be all that I need.....everybody I talk to keeps telling me dont start with a 250 or 300, ill get bored with it in a couple months...

Sat on one of the 600 Ninja.....do not like the way it feels when im hunched over >_<.

Sat on that Daytona and it was like DAYYYYUUUUMMMMMMM just feels right!

Wish the people in hawaii wouldnt charge full damn price for aused bike.....seriously like 300 cheaper to by a 2012 than to get a 2013.

Unless you're a sick pro bicycle rider, get a very well used bike to learn on. No, really.

You really HAVE to be aware of everything around you on a bike. Different traction characteristics and you're invisible to car drivers.
Really a different head space entirely. SMIDSY - Sorry mate, I didn't see ya!

Some of them have been riding for years....one I know started on a 1000 >_<. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because I am not sure. Trying to make this as thought out and careful as possible, my roomie has a street triple R (675) that he has let me ride around an empty parking lot and yeah, it is a different experience altogether.

Honest question: is a 600 a bad idea just because of the torque/power delivery....or is it because it is too fast in general?

Yep I hear that a lot, I have been looking into buying a bike for almost 3 months now, hell sometimes I don't even see them.....but that's when they are doing like 100 in a 45 >_>...that pretty common out here. The guys at the motorcycle shops know me by first name now, I keep coming in asking questions, looking for tips on how to ride etc. I am doing a great deal to make sure I don't make a bad choice on what I buy .
