*sigh*, If you can't R&D a product that meets what you'd publish for results (minus obvious vendor/manufacturer inflation), WHY would you push it to production in the first place???

I was just thumbing through my latest edition of Grass Roots Motorsports (which the BRZ was on the front page FTW!). On page 55, there is a half-page ad for Innovate that has the supercharger on it. I'll post a pic of it when I have time but here are the details from the ad.

SCION FR-S / TOYOTA 86 / SUBARU BRZ
OEM Fitment Twin-Screw Supercharger
- Instant boost at any RPM
- Easy to install
- Utilizes factory MAF / Airbox
- High performance intake manifold
- Best fitment available

Tuner Kits Available Now!
NON-INTERCOOLED
MSRP: $3295

INTERCOOLED
MSRP: $4495

That's it. No horsepower or torque numbers given, just a pic of the supercharger in the ad. No other information in the ad.

my point is that everyone knows the ballpark. it's unlikely anyone will break the deal over where it falls in a 20whp spread.

That's the point. Companies know this... which makes me curious why they haven't published numbers...

fun
contracts
profit
price leaders still sell even if they are #2 or #3 in HP and TQ
it offers a unique power delivery model, that makes it novel and worth it to many folks who arent seeking max power at redline
I bet it can light them tires up easy, and will sound amazing and be a hoot to drive too

Everyone THINKS they know the ballpark. Only SOME know it and it is not being shared. It is being protected very closely. The day numbers are released, we will all know why it was being held so secretively.

i agree all of the speculation and drama surrounding this is definitely weird, and would suggest that the kit had some teething problems or underperformed in testing. innovate isn't helping themselves by not talking, either.

i guess i just find it funny that you could put the same guy in two otherwise identical, blown 86's with 5 or 10whp between them, and he'd have to guess which was which. the same guy will flat out rule out a purchase he'd otherwise love to make over something he couldn't possibly discern. odd logic, imho.

there's a dyno a few pages back. we know the ballpark. they're not going to inject the u.s. kit with unicorn dust and make another 100whp.

We can run circles around this, but the Dyno was not in USA. Numbers do differ from location. Anyways, I personally consider 240 whp too high for what this kit will make as stage 1.

I've wavered back and forth in my feelings about this product and this company a few times.

First I was excited like everyone else. Then they disappeared and stopped providing ANY info in the thread THEY STARTED (now locked). Then @Visconti got his hands in the thing and teased us a bit but obviously wasn't allowed to post data. Around that time they said that this data was forthcoming....it never materialized and NOW they've shoved their own head up their collective asses and post meaningless ads with NO new information in magazines while not returning to the boards where THEY STARTED A DAMNED THREAD TO DISCUSS THIS VERY PRODUCT.

At this point I would need for someone like Visconti to put out a version of this with their own tweaks that performs well for me to consider buying. It's looking more and more like I'll be going with Vortech or HKS. I will not work with this company directly even if they surprise us all and post something attractive in the way of performance data.

I'm on the same boat if this kit come out one day I will not buy it from innovate.
I will buy it from a tuner. Because I'm afraid innovate will offer zero customer service.
