I understand your point of view here. I myself have been on the fence about what to pick for my DD for awhile and I keep going full circle between several cars. The car that I consistantly keep coming back to is the BRZ. I will not actually buy until November so I am not 100% sure about what I will be buying but the BRZ is the current front runner for sure.

Same here. Need a new DD. Keep flip flopping between an FR-S, 9th Si, and possibly waiting for the MKVII GTI, which is down on weight, and up on power. Grrrrrr!

My friend was in a similar situation with an Audi S6 and a WRX STi. He felt it was a little redundant having two AWD turbo sedans, so he sold the S6 and bought a Supra. I don't know why I'm getting a third lightweight RWD coupe (E30 BMW, MR2, BRZ) but I just love that car formula!!

Congrats on your awesome taste in cars. What color is your Godzilla? I ended up going with Dark Metal Grey.

For the BRZ I will be looking at either Silver, White, WRB and in that order.

I thought about waiting for a 2014 BRZ STi, or even the revamped 2014 WRX, but I needed some wheels now, so I bought the 2013 BRZ. I can always add HP later.

I don't think that you will have any regrets with your BRZ.

Any car can be tuned and when you tune your car it can be to your exact wanted/required specs. :happy0180:

If it's not dramatically different, do you think end of year 2013 models will have reduced prices to "get them off the lot"? I'm not sure this time around, because it doesn't seem like there are any on the lots to begin with... LOL.

The BRZ is in a tough position with Subaru. An STI version would hurt regular BRZ and WRX-STI sales if its in the a decent price range.

Without significant changes (wider fenders, FI, or at the very least aggressive cam profile changes), I don't think that will be an issue. Aftermarket support will drive those willing to do their own work to the base model while those who want to buy a car and leave it stock will flock to the upmarket version.
