I've seen two in Australia alone, one turbo & one NA. The turbo setup snapped the rod on decel while slowing down to pull into the owners street, the NA one snapped through normal acceleration at around 6000rpm. Both ended up with the typical block windows

Could be ok, in that configuration the pressure source should be before the throttle plate, taking the source straight off the compressor outlet would be the best bet:

I could have missed it but did anyone mention if the correct fuel injectors were installed? I had this happen once... Took me a number of pulls to figure out why i was maxing my injector cycle so quickly. It took me about a week before i finally yanked the injectors and realized the 550cc i thought i had were 275's. ( i was messing with the pump, lines, filter, fuel fail...). I felt pretty stupid that i didn't verify before installing. Luckily though the engine didnt go out from it, throttle was cut the moment it started leaning out.

The main problem here is that no safeguards were in place. No data logging, no wideband, no boost gauge(which is never ok on forced induction applications), running on a basemap, and pushing the car too hard before its ready.

Not only will you have no idea what the car is doing but you will also have no idea of how to prove what went wrong.

On a High CR motor you have to be extra cautious, like baby steps. Losing traction in first and shifting into second doesn't exact sound like you were taking it easy before you knew it was safe to push it.

I hate it for you ,but if you start mixing boost and high compression then you damn sure better make sure everything is perfect before blasting on it.

So are we saying running a basemap is not okay? I plan on going with an fa20 club setup and their basemap. I planned on running just the basemap because I dont know of any tuners in my area. I live in a crappy town

I think if you are going to pay $5000 (+$ for install) for a turbo kit on your $27000 car you should be able to pony up another $200 for a custom tune... I think the point of the base map is so you can drive the car safely after install to get tuned. I'm sure there is a decent tuner near you. I've driven to San Fransisco from LA to get tuned before.
