Statistical question: Is the comparison just about 70 year olds? For instance, does it just include 70 year olds chewing bubble gum? If that is the case then certainly bubblegum should be banned from 70 year olds. That, and large pieces of meat.

That's probably from the radiator of the guy that hit you. Or your blinker fluid, you know that shit's expensive.

Try and get the insurance to total it so you can get a new car. If the damage adds up to half of the cost of the vehicle it should be written off I believe.

Imo find a shop and have them nick pick everything and charge max price on all parts that needs repairs and hopefully convince them to tell the total loss adjustor that it is a total loss.

This all depends on the body shop and the insurance company. Some insurance companies, like USAA, will only use new oem parts if the car is less than 2 years old (no aftermarket). Others... like Fred Loya will try to used refurbished parts, then aftermarket, then OEM.

Body shops are hit and miss, your insurance in Texas should let you choose your shop if you know a good one in your area, some insurance companies will suggest a shop or tell you if you go to a certain shop they will guarantee the work.

My wife recently hit a barrier with her 7 month old CRV. USAA had us take the car to Caliber Collision (they have shops all over, including Plano). When I went to pick up the car I was in the mindset that I was going to find something wrong with the car and make them fix it. I spent 15 minutes going over the car and couldn't find anything, it looked better than brand new. They also have a lifetime warranty on their repair work.

Sorry about your car, good luck with the repairs, post some pics when you get it back.

ding ding ding. That would be my assumption as well, that or his washer fluid reservoir; if its positioned close to there.

Also... blinker fluid
