The 86 for example has a very apparent bulge in the taillight that you can see from the side shot and the front 3/4 shot. If it looks like a random black thing from that angle, then that kind of ruins it.

But nevertheless, this shot looks great! Good Job!

If this is the BRZ, the tails look to be the same except smoked or black housings. Simple swap...

For great tinting, I highly recommend Tamiya's smoke color:

Not only does it give great color, but the spray mist is very fine, giving you lots of flexibility with how much you want to tint the housing.

@ celicajim. If that's the case then thats a pretty simple option! You would just have to find someone who wants to trade! Will have to wait until more BRZ info is released.

It doesn't matter how you color them, the design is still ugly as sin. I miss the FT-86 rear.

Everytime I see the GT86 rear I think of the bottom two pictures:

I agree, paint for lexan bodies would be a lot better!

Just a bit of a warning before anyone attempts to "open" a set of tail lamps. Many, if not most, modern lamps (excluding headlamps which are always glued) are assembled through the means of plastic welding. Two common methods are vibration welding and hotplate welding.
Regardless of the process used, the tail lamps are designed to never come apart after assembly. Baking in an oven will not weaken the bond, in fact during the hotplate method it is not uncommon to have the contact temperature near 300C. Trying to break apart the weld will result in cracking the lens and destroying the assembly
The company I work for builds the tooling used in welding tail lamps and I am responsible for doing customer runoffs and debugging such equipment. We break hundreds of lamps a year to determine if the part is properly sealed and once it breaks, it will never go back together.
PS, I cannot wait for this car to finally come out!
