LOL have you guys heard of the little recorder dongle thing that Progressive Ins sends you, it records your throttle, brake inputs and measures G forces to see if you are a "good" or "safe" driver... then depending on what it measures it can give you a rate discount. I bet if I did that it would record my driving, and then say "no discount"! LOL

Mines Road was pretty empty this morning. Quite sluggish as the same tactic of attack on Redwood was used, low rear tire pressure. Mines, being a smoother and even pavement, really didn't let the car transition easily. Refilled the rear tires and it was back to its happy place. I guess the bumpier Redwood/PH keeps the car guessing that even with low pressure, it's always on its toes. Sporadic drive, test couple theories. Thanks for reading.

![]() Sprung out of bed, looked out the window, and had a Phineas and Ferb moment. Yeah, my drives could boring without an agenda, so I made another one up this morning and threw the tire pump and pressure gauge in the car. |

How is it so far? Been playing around with higher pressures, been pretty happy with the response at 40 psi, then airing it back down to the regular 35 on the way home for comfort.

oddly i seem to like the lower pressure. At the Hwy 1 drive someone pointed out my tires looked a little low, but to me the car felt fine. So this week I checked and sure enough it was down to about 26. I pumped them back up to around 33 and now the car feels skittish and understeery to me. I guess I may have to play around with front/rear variance. Is 35psi the recommended pressure? Shame on me for not knowing...

Upper 30s and 40s, the FRS is tail happy. Perhaps your springs are playing a role. My FRS likes mid 30s, even lower with a load and tank of gas.

Hmmm, have not thought about playing between front and rear, that would be an interesting experiment, thanks Yeah, 35 psi is the recommended (cold) pressure (posted on the door). Quote:

My ride alongs in autox resulted in removing air from the tires. And he got faster each time. I'm merely looking for less drifting and more rear grip on our backroads, the fronts at normal op range is fine as these cars are responsive with the wheel and even slows down when you steer in the turn. Keeping on the gas in the sweepers and throttle-ing thru gives a weird 'sliding' sensation. Get use to that sliding affect and these cars are marvelous. You fight against what the car is doing and you're gonna have a bad day. I'm learning more and more about these tires. Let's got coffee and talk more about it...

If we're starting at CV then I guess we could do it before, but I dont mind either way, we could start at golflinks by o-town zoo and work our way towards CV also.
