This car uses the MAF for fuel calculations. During a MAF issue there is a speed density limp map.

My vortech kit is MAF tuned and has a bigger map sensor for data logging and over boost protection

Wanted to take a minute and apologize for customers experiencing a longer than anticipated lead time on receiving your Vortech Systems both directly and through our trusted vendors at the current time. These systems have been an amazing success, even beyond our anticipation, and we have been doing our best to keep up with demands, but we are behind. We are doing everything we can to keep the lead times as short as possible, and will continue to do so until we catch up.

We definitely thank the FT86 enthusiasts for embracing the Vortech system, and we will continue to our efforts to keep you excited about, and happy with our products well into the future.

Hey, I don't know a lot about tuning, but how would a map sensor provide over boost protection

The map sensor gives the ecu the ability to see higher boost levels.

All my forced induction calibrations have boost limiters setup in the ecu.

Hey John, how do you limit boost without some sort of wastegate? Do you just stop the throttle or something? I'm just generally curious.

Probably fuel cut and throttle close like the stock rev limiter works and most factory turbo cars, it's over boost protection not boot control from what he is describing.

Excited to hear our first couple "Complete" system kits are in production! We've gotten great interest in these for the CA crowd, especially once everyone heard they're shipping set up for 9psi out of the box.

Anyone running a Vortech system keep the stock clutch and have it last? That seems to be the biggest question, since the StayCrushing car's OEM clutch went so quickly.

@Brian@Vortech

Were there design issues which prohibited the retention of the OE washer fluid bottle? Lots of other FI conversions seem to retain it with some more creative pipework.

I for one value the large capacity of the OE resevoir and would prefer not to lose it.

Are there any intentions from Vortech to improve this situation?

Thanks

...get a custom pipe fabricated? getting a few bits of alloy tube welded up isn't hard or costly.

Pretty sure when you are shelling out 5K for a kit, you want it to bolt on and work not have to fab up stuff, hence the question to try and get a solution similar to the other kits.

quick update
1-AT 10 PSI this week, sure there is a tiny bit of slip at engagement under full power but its holding upwards ofo 190TQ and 250HP without going into full slip so far

2-next week 11psi!, then 12, maybe we will find clutch TQ limit?

3-their washer reloc kit is brilliant btw

4-I took apart and reinstalled the pipes going to TB -clocked them right, its not easy to get the 1st try, you learn as you do it, and there are zero rub issues for me now. This was more user than engineering.

5-removing the oil cooler from infront FMIC does impact the FMICs temp, and should impact IAT also, tho most of america isnt seeing 92F this time of year, I am.

6-soldering and some heat shrink wrap shouldnt scare anyone
