10/10ths events... Putnam Park

Just wondering if anyone on here was going to any of the 10/10ths events at Putnam this year?

I plan on hitting quite a few and am currently signed up in Intermediate for April 6th. Post up if you're going, be nice to meet some other forum members!

I'll be there on Friday at the first event. JUST got the FR-S, so it'll probably still be on OEM tires. I see lots of sideways in my future, haha. The TurninConcepts car will be there that day, so it'll be bad for my wallet I'm sure... Wish I could stay all weekend but I have autocrosses to run the rest of the weekend.

Just got back from 100-Speed event on the 23rd. We took an FR-S and 350z. Weather turned out a lot better than expected and we had a blast in both cars.

Road and Track was aslo there with a a BRZ and couple of other long term test cars.

Congrats on the new car Dave!

Does yours have the Michelins or the Bridgestones?

Wish I could make this Event. I'll be at Autobahn north on the 6th with GPStracktime.com and Gingerman April 7th for their open track day.

Bridgestones. Do some come with Michelins? The car is loose as hell on throttle so I have to assume they're pretty crappy all season tires. May have a lead on a set of used star specs I can pick up cheap to get me through a few track days.

PS. Do I know you? Unfamiliar screen name haha.

Fwiw I autox'd my car with paper plates on it and around 800mi on the clock!

The beginner sessions out there, at least the ones I've been in with Torqued Racing, allow you to 'get your feet wet' slowly and at your own pace. They had spread us out so we were on our own on the track. And the classroom q&a was a big help. I'm pretty sure 10/10ths setup is the same as TR.

Just a warning, if you go you'll be hooked! Just take it easy and you are guaranteed to have a blast!

I second what Rob said. If you can make it out on Friday the 5th, just ask for me as your instructor. I'll be sure you have a good time and stay safe while going fast.

LOL, this is Jonathan (CKR SCCA).

They have been coming with the all-season Bridgestones in this area lately. The Michelins are a 2-3 season tire at best.

Before we switched to some old rcomp Avon's we did a few laps on the BStones and they did ok, but they are going to look pretty nasty if you put a full day on them.

Hey buddy! Jim Zeisler has some 6/32" star specs for $300, so I think I'm going to try to get those on the car before I go. If not, shredded shoulders it is haha.

Well, given that it came with the Bridgestones, will it eat up my tires?

Basically, I plan to get a track-dedicated set of wheels and tires in the future and I really don't wanna burn through my stockers since I plan to use em for commuting, etc.

Your tires will be fine. You just won't have as much grip in the corners.
