Last few events in my STF car.

Decided to upload some gopro footage of the last few events on my STF scion trd release series tc. I missed saturdays event to make sure I would be getting a 86 by the first. I made Sundays event and drove like crap... Couldnt get the excitment of the 86 out of my head.

I have two sets of race tires just waiting for the 86. a set of rs3s and a set of star specs. The rs3s were only mounted a week ago they had been on back order since Febuary. I will be running a 225/45/17 tire on the 86 till these tires are gone. Then I will think about wider.

Here is my fastest two runs. The first run would have won me the class if I had not coned it. The 2nd run here was my fastest clean run.

This was 2nd video was my first place win in Chicago a few weeks ago. I took the win from a good freind that took the ST jacket last year. This one is pretty windy out.

Here is a chairty event we ran at a local college at the start of the month. I lost first by .029 I was not to happy.

Going to miss this car. I spent a lot of time on it tryign to get it to rotate correctly only to get into a good class this year... and not get womped on by the old civics. Im going to miss my stf cheater pax.

Hmm, I have a feeling you wont miss it for long, that understeer looks dreadful!

Other than the few places you washed out pretty bad, your line looks good and the car seemed to slalom pretty well as long as your entry speed was right. Very cool!

What class will you be prepping your FRS for? I would assume RTR or ST based on your comments about kook's or star specs...

At least for the first year I will not be prepping the car at all. Besides camber adjustments. Subie does not have the scion wording in the manual that you can use camber bolts to adjust factory alignment. So I will be picking up a set of the lower bolts and putting them in the top.

To be honest I dont even know what to shoot for alignment wise on a RWD car.

My tc has only -2degrees in the front and about -1.25 in the back

This whole thing happened becasue I made a post on coilovers and new exhaust with high flow cat... any my dealer buddy said why not get a frs.
The wife and I started to have a few redbull and vodkas and she oked it. She was suppose to get a new car before I did. She said if you can make it work do it. So I am.

I don't want to be the person testing coils and so on for this car. I will wait for some of you to prove some of it out first. Ill run in stock or the RT class or what have you for the rest of the year. If the SCCA can get off there ass and class the car already. I know its been running. a few people have ran it in cs so far. I want to know where its going to end up in ST. That's where I would like to be at eventually.

I have no interest in paying for r-comps. Our lot is concrete and tires dont last to long here. Even last year my rs3s only lasted 120 runs with no camber at the time and 4000 street miles.

This year I had dedicated autox rims. I have 80 runs in so far this year. 72 on star specs and 8 now on my rs3s. star specs have tons of life and the rs3s are new. Need to burn these bad boys off. The wife hates the garage full of tires. I told her it was her fault I didnt order my rs3s in January when tire rack had them in stock so I was getting two sets this year. hehe

FYI, the FR-S manual and BRZ manual are effectively the same as far as alignment goes - see the threads in the suspension section - and yes, neither has the adjustment of the tC.

It'll be RT / Stock on 'street' tires for me as well - hopefully the low cg + lower grip will not require too much static camber.

Tomorrow is the big day for the FRS. I have a two day event weekend. Fresh Rs3s that had 8 runs on them from my TRD TC. Had to have them mounted on the stock wheels this morning due to the bore on the hub being 2mm bigger then my race wheels bore. Those are getting machined out. I will have the go-pro with me.

Running 225/45/17s rs3s stock alignment and c-stock.

Anyone know how low we can run on fuel before we have starvation?

Without some form of camber adjustment, you'll chew through those rs3s extremely quick. Others have achieved just over -2 on the front with stock bolts...that will probably be the ticket to success.
