One reason why I'm placing an order for one regardless of what's on the lot.

I've seen many youtube vids of service workers joyriding the new cars after hours and while Ferguson Subaru has left me no reason to suspect them of such actions, I'd still rather be safe than sorry.

it's that old saying

"Take care of your car and it will take care of you."

My other reason for placing an order, I just want a WRB premium with fog lights, nothing more.

every time I check their inventory they always have some extras attached and I'd rather not have to explain to them why i don't want their extras.

and the final reason, No Dealer installed front license plates. Though this one shouldn't be an issue as they're not required here in OK

Hence why mine will hopefully never see the dealer ever again.

Even if the fuel pump actually dies I'll try to do it myself. Out of it's current ~6.5k miles it's only had 6 miles out of my supervision.

Nobody knows why yet, but I'd say it's worth waiting a month to see if any desirable features may be coming out. Worst case, MY2013 cars will get cheaper as the orders for 2014 take over.

True. But the odds are that the car "whipped" by the first owner will show problems before the car that was driven and maintained properly.

I've been buying cars since 1952 so I've had my experiences and I'm sure you've had yours. The fact that our opinions differ is o.k.

I just bought a used Manual BRZ Limited with 9200 miles for $25.5k. It was a certified pre-owned with the original warranty, so it looked like a good deal. Their asking price was almost $27k at first, but I was able to talk him down

true. I'll give you that, but here's the question when is the cut-off for MY2013 orders?

Anything beyond that nobody knows, depends on what the supply is for your dealer, they could have '13's sitting on the lot until next year.

lucky you have the time! 80 hours a week doesnt exactly permit me to work on my car and attempt a potentially warrenty-voiding fuel pump replacement

Prices aren't going to drop that much for a used model for at least a year at a dealership. You'd be better off grabbing one from someone privately. A guy in my chapter is selling his for $23k. They should be starting to pop up, especially when the 2014 WRX comes out.

It does say first delivery will be in October so it's safe to assume '13's will be delivered at least through September.

First post...

Bought a used BRZ Limited with 3200mi for 25.5k last week. Color and options were perfect, believable story on the car's history, drives perfect. I'm a happy camper - we love it, and for 3k under sticker, that's a win in my book.
