If you have a jack, stands, and a few hand tools, do the exhaust yourself and save the coin. This car is very easy to change the exhaust on. IIRC, there were 2 bolts and 5 rubber hangers to slide off. That's it. Within a few minutes of getting the car jacked up, the exhaust from the cat back came out in one piece! Nice.

The more I look into it the more I am leaning to doing my own exhaust. I can save $500 if I do the Borla myself.

As for the TRD Air Intake I think I might actually get this. Some on here are knocking it but I think the design is good if not better than some of these after market CAI like Injen and K&N.
The air box is absolutely huge while the large straight and short tube can only help airflow even get better.

I have a feeling my Takeda intake will go up for sale once that TRD intake becomes available. It's probably the ugliest but [potentially] best engineered intake there is lol. Did anyone post an ETA for availability on that thing?

That is up for debate. Is the snorkel larger then stock? Or does it bolt directly to the stock one?

TRD Japan has an adjustable set available (japanparts.com is a distributor I trust). I've also read about a TRD Sportivo strut/spring kit which lowers it 10mm. I think Scion dealerships are sourcing spring or coilover options from Tein (people who purchase a FiveAxis edition are presented with that option, for example).

Yup it's up for debate which is why I stated it's "potentially" the best. I believe it reuses the stock snorkel based on this picture of the kit

but we can't claim the snorkel is a bottleneck til we see hard numbers to prove it. If anything, I'm guessing removing the snorkel yields increases in some parts of the powerband at the expense of other parts.

The tip of the snorkel resembles a Venturi tube with an entry cone of 30 degrees and exit cone of 5 degrees. That ensures constant air pressure into the airbox and predictable readings for the MAFS/ECU. So the TRD CAI leverages an already solid design tuned for the stock ECU. I believe the true bottleneck lies in the stock filter's smaller area. This oversized TRD filter mimics the larger area of cone filters and will also intake a larger mass of air but, hypothetically, at a more constant pressure than aftermarket intakes due to the Venturi effect. I think that's why aftermarket intakes need ECU tuning so the ECU knows to expect a different air flow pattern.



Velocity stacks in race engines utilize a Venturi opening. I believe stack length can be tuned to manipulate powerband behavior. This might relate to what I was saying about keeping vs. removing our stock snorkel.

I'm thinking about the TRD intake myself if it actually becomes available. I get 15% off at my local dealer, but being in Canada, things always take longer to get into the system. I checked with my dealer last week, and the part number for the airbox is shown as obsolete. If your dealer was able to get you a price, it's only a matter of time before it shows up here as well.

I would have to say that aftermarket is better and cheaper than all of that. The only way I would go with the dealer is you don't have the money to do any of it and can add it all and finance it.

Clazzio has seat covers in real leather for under $500 and the install is pretty simple. Check the interior for sale forum here to find the vendor selling them.

The sharkfin is not terrible price.

The 5 axis is not horrible pricing but you could probably get cheaper through a vendor and body shop. If you can throw it in the financing and you don't have the cash then go for it.

You might want to consider the Stillen Lip kit as an option vs the 5 axis. It is $1240 retail for the 7 piece with the trunk wing and roof wing. To paint should not be too much.

The TRD-Exhaust is not horrible price, but you could get MXP, Nameless and a host of others for less, maybe much less.

You can get better wheels for that price or a little more.

Depends on what kind of tint they are using. That is ceramic pricing.

Hell no on the intake, get takada.

I would look into opticoat instead of the 3M shield, similar protection with no ugly look.
