I wish Vortech could send me a new unit since this one was only mounted and never used. This way i won't be without my car for 2 plus weeks. |

Shiping normally doesnt talk to R&D, a couple times I've had a program shipped out even after I emailed them to hold it for an hour, had to update the Usb stick with a better written script. but no, they sent it anyways. customer was happy because I emailed the new script to umm instead of mailing it. |

You know, I bought a head unit from Crutchfield, I got it in the mail, installed it, and it was broken. I called crutchfield, they asked me a few questions and came to the same conclusion, it's broken. Three days later I had a new head unit and a box with instructions to package the old one and send it back. They didn't charge me an extra cent. That was good customer service.
Vortech, you messed up. Make it right. |

Disclaimer: I am about to get my accounting on. If this type of thing bores you then carry on to the next post. Shipping the product to the customer is a part of overhead which is one of the three factors in product cost (the other two being direct materials and labor). When Vortech reports on the profitability of this product they "should" include shipping of the product to the customer as a cost of goods sold. Therefore, paying for the return shipping to the customer would hurt the margin on the product and be a disadcentive to invest in similar products. The higher Vortech's profit margin on this product the increased likely hood of them investing in R&D to come out with a superior supercharger. For this reason I am glad they are requiring customers to pay return shipping when they exchange their product. |

I understand that, but they shipped him a unit they KNEW they were phasing out in a week for a better design. They should have just held onto the original for an extra couple days and shipped him the new unit.

Agreed, but this is a large company and the R&D department is not in communication with the shipping and receiving department. If this was a mom and pops shop then this event would be surprising. Since it is a large company it would be a shock if this event did not occur.

I am amazed that the company is offering compensation at all. The people who bought first, they got a good quality first gen product.
A new version comes out and they want the new one for free? WTF? When you go buy a TV or laptop or whatever, a new model can come out the week after, but you aren't entitled to a free upgrade, why is this any different? Kudos to the company for keeping people happy, but if it wasn't for societies strange justification for thinking they are entitled to everything they want, FOR NOTHING, Vortech could probably be spending more time on making new products. The sense of entitlement some people have blows. my. fucking. mind. |
