I wrote a letter in support with the following changes:

1) Keep the one swaybar allowance. I agree it opens up for people to replace both bars with super stiff ones to act as springs even more than what is done today.

2) Keep the same shock rules. Remote reservoirs are not really that much more than non remote shocks. At least change the proposal so cars which did use the remotes and drilled holes are still legal.

3) Allow camber changes for all suspension types.

4) Leave SS on race tires

Sounds like a good plan. I'd eliminate the 2 sway bar change also.

allowing camber plates addresses the inherit advantage of OEM-sprung cars that have a wishbone design over MacStrut.

The point is to keep the tire flat on the road during cornering, and this will give the macstrut cars that option

its win win because now no design is advantageous out of the box.

this fasttrack is exactly what "stock" category needs, kudos for getting the ball rolling.

IMO this is a huge leap in the right direction. I would like to see it stay at a single sway bar as well as exclude mono tube shocks. If SS wants to keep smoking the black crack, OK with me. Cars should be generally available from a manufacturer and the 1,000+ number should be more black/white. Allowing cars like the MS R and Z0K is a slippery slope regardless of how competitive they are.

So, who's going to make me a couple 30mm sway bars? Lol.
Seriously, I love the new rules. I think it is past time that rcomps got out of stock.
I think it's past time that the top 1-2% of drivers that compete nationally in stock are the driving force behind classing. Attracting and retaining new drivers should be the main goal. The serious drivers will trickle up to national competition. A larger pool of local racers will only help.
As for the SS Crowd? Change it to super sticky and let them hit the crack. Honestly I don't know. It might be some of the biggest national classes, but in the grand scheme of things they might have to be sacrificed. Let the letters decide their fate.

As for me, I never considered competing nationally till RT classes. I think this can only help.

Yes I was reading it wrong I thought it was just doing away with stock class and opening up more st classes that allow for some serious suspension mods. camber bolts are $10 so any newbie (like me) can afford those granted my car puts me in stx but if I had to come into this class with a stock car I would have been dead last for a while and I would have probably quit coming altogether. I really like the idea of being competitive in your moms station wagon with proper classing and this does look like a good improvement to better class the cars and allow people to make small mods and keep their same competitors.

Looks to be a good move for SCCA. I like the street class idea.

I will never buy R-comps. Way too impractical and expensive. I am a fan of street tires. I am glad that they made this change. SS and FS aren't going to like it. I think they need to have an outlet that is not "limited prep".

I don't think anyone will argue the camber allowance.

The wheel diameter allowance helps some people (14" miata wheels, anyone), but doesn't really provide an advantage (except for a low end gearing advantage, but that's another story). I wish they allowed a wider wheel, but that's I classing

Double sway bars is a little silly. Front or back, not both. Otherwise people will run 2" swaybars and mounts will start ripping off of the frames.

How would this affects the FRS/BRZ?

Camber plates front and rear (not really needed, but camber helps). Huge swaybars front and rear, as big as you can fit, probably custom bent, probably an adjustable speedway bar. Expect your swaybar mounts to fail. You might be able to go with 16" wheels and a smaller diameter tire for a gearing advantage (at the loss of top end speed).

As others have said, moving Stock away from R-comps and remote-resevoir shocks is a really smart move.

Yesterday, I purchased a set of 17x7's and Direzza's (before I heard about this proposal). It was a tough decision because my club does not offer RTR. It was a conscious decision to have fun rather than be competitive. I find R-comps to be completely against the idea of Stock. The class should be about minimalism. What is the minimum preparation required to have a good time at the track?

The answer is simple. Tires and the support of their wear rate. Minor compensation for understeer-happy manufacturers.

That's exactly what the proposal attempts to do, and I am 100% behind the effort.

How about 13.9 (E)

E. Traction Control / Electronic Stability Control and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems may be disabled.

No more pedal dance?

I was thinking about how nice that rule change would be on my way to work this morning as I am holding the button to turn everything off in case I needed to use the throttle at a busy intersection.
