They're both synthetic, the Sustina is the "higher end" line of Eneos oil, however I haven't done any extended testing with it yet so I can't say how much better it really is. They advertise 70% less sulfur content in it which is nice.

Looked at all the videos and looks like a decent product. I see they have the regular Eneos at Napa but not the Sustina. Where can you get the Sustina???

SUSTINA

been using this too, good stuff, high VI

I ordered online from ft86factory,not cheap but worth it
0W-20 ECO-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCE
Formulated to reduce fuel consumption and prolong engine life. Best suited for LEV and Hybrids.

Engine oil is produced by mixing base oil with various additives. SUSTINA W BASE base oil has an ultra-high viscosity index (229 in 0W-20), which means there is less viscosity change with temperature.

Superior Cleaning Power

Benefit - A cleaner, longer lasting engine

SUSTINA motor oil is designed to provide long lasting, detergent cleaning power. SUSTINA utilizes the sulfur-free characteristics of ZP, a proprietary additive chemistry that reduces the formation of sulfuric acid, keeping your engine cleaner and running longer.

ZP Technology - Sulfur free additive component

Most engine oil today contains detergent additives to clean your engine as well as "Zinc", or actually Zinc DialkylDithiophosphates (ZDDP/ZDTP) to provide antiwear performance.

To prevent grime attaching to engine parts, the detergent additive encapsulates dirt and grime, holding it in suspension away from critical engine parts.

Typical ZDDP additive prevents metal-to-metal contact in the engine by forming a protective layer over the surface. The antiwear additive also contains sulfur, which can form harmful acids when exposed to heat, water, and oxygen.

These acids will begin to attack and breakdown detergent additives in the oil. Once the detergent additives are depleted, the engine oil can no longer hold dirt & soot in suspension, allowing these contaminants to build up on engine components. Sustina is made using ZP technology, a revolutionary new antiwear additive chemistry that does not contain sulfur. The lack of sulfur and acidic byproducts prevents oil degradation and achieves superior protection while keeping your engine clean.

Ultimate Fuel Efficiency

Benefit - Proven 2% improvement in fuel efficiency over GF-4 oil

Sustina utilizes Nippon Oil's own W BASE base oil technology to maintain an extremely stable oil viscosity over a wide temperature range.

This technology allows SUSTINA to be very fluid at cold temperatures, reducing internal engine drag and improving fuel economy up to 2% when compared to currently available fuel conserving GF-4 oils of the same viscosity.

W BASE Technology- High Viscosity Index base oil

Typical synthetic base oil is made up of carbon and hydrogen ring-shaped molecular structures. As these structures move, they tend to collide and intertwine, slowing their movement especially at low temperatures, resulting in very high cold start viscosity.

W BASE technology realigns the carbon and hydrogen structure into a relatively straight line, allowing free movement of the molecules even at low temperatures, providing lower engine drag and improved fuel efficiency.

Two things:

Liking these numbers! VI of 229. Eneos are using the new trimer type moly as well, so that explains the lower numbers.

Then there's this...

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rahXmxEWIYY&feature=youtube_gdata_player"]ENEOS Nippon Oil Funny TV Advertisement - YouTube[/ame]

That's reason alone to get my business!

$12 a qt, though. That's a bit much for a DD.

I'm sure they're out there, but I haven't seen a mainstream supplier in Canada for the Sustina line yet. CarQuest and Napa can both get the regular Eneos product lines, but they'll probably have to order it in.

i tried to see the product and pricing info on Napa Canada website but i couldn't find any. How much does it cost for the non-sustina line?

I pay around $30 for a 4qt jug for the non-sustina.

Lol Napa wont carry ENEOS. Garage16 is a distributor in the GTA. I buy mine from FT86Speeedfactory whenever I get parts shipped to the US border towns.

i just checked out their site. 4L Eneos is $40 that's not bad but FT86Speedfactory is a lot cheaper. I goto Windsor often so i guess i'll just buy it in Detroit.

Any trouble bring engine oil over the border?

No, but then again, I haven't had trouble bringing guns across the border either so YMMV lol.
