It's Argento. They're keeping any special color palettes for future release series cars.

Let me correct this actually. At this time, the color is planned to be Argento. Again, nothing is finalized yet so it can still change.

For reference, the latest release series tC added a body kit, TRD exhaust, TRD lowering springs, and other minor misc items for an added 3k in MSRP. That's why I don't see the release series actually adding any of the TRD parts with the exception of the lower springs. Otherwise, they're pushing the price of the car to about 4k or more above a standard FRS, which by then would be out of the price range for their brand target demographic
Your logic makes sense. If all they are adding is the exhaust and springs I'd rather just buy those for my existing car as the HVAC and HIDs are nice but not enough to get a new car over.

So much so that I am considering trading up for one. It should be on sale around September/October.

Edit: forgot to mention keyless entry and push start
Sounds like was describing an STi version of the BRZ.

Why in hell would they sell such a desirable car in oh-so-boring silver, as if it were a Corolla? Really stupid move, it will probably turn off many potential buyers. The reason suggested earlier - because silver is the lowest-selling color - is ridiculous. That should be a red-flag warning NOT to sell it in silver.

You have to understand corporate thinking. They figure that the "undesirable" color will be over ridden by the buyers desire to have all the features they are going to potentially throw into the car. Because they desire to have all those options (read: push button start on an FR-S) they will buy it no matter what color it comes in.

The reason I was told for silver as the choice of color is because the traditional gift for 10th anniversary is "tin". Hence picking silver. It's supposed to apply to all the scion release series models coming out this fall.

The only thing that will make this interesting for potential buyers is if they include all the things I was told would be on it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I just wish they would at least offer all those options as upgrades to people who want them in their FR-S. I know they don't want the price of their cars to go too high, but the least they could do is let the people who can afford it have those options.
All I want are the HIDs and push button start on an ultramarine FR-S.

They'd still likely be losing a lot of sales at the margins - folks who would readily go for it but for that boring non-color.

It is? I know black followed by white have been the top sellers in recent years, but when I bought my RSX 10 years ago silver was tops in just about every category.

Your comment explains why Honda builds 2013+ manual Accord Coupe EX's in black only. Another reason I left Honda.

Just saw a huge bump in in-transit BRZ's to the Seattle area. Between three dealers there are a total of 36 BRZ's in stock and on the way, 27 Limited and 9 Premium. I hope this is a signal that the 13's are being purged to make way for the new model year ordering! Maybe some discounting as well? I am chomping at the bit and can't decide to bite on a '13 or wait for the '14, maybe a decent price discount will push me over.

That's because by now even your average buyer knows that silver is totally played out.

Awesome, even more reason for me to like it. I was never one to follow in the footsteps of fads...that's for posers.

I like silver for the ease of maintenance and how well it matches/contrasts on any car. Wheels almost always match right away too...don't have to color code which is too flashy for me.
