Looking good, can you post up a side shot with those Raijins? Those wheels are really growing on me, just so nice and clean

Thanks,
Rick

I'd be happy to get some proper photos, but she's in the air right now prepping for forced induction.

Soon!

FBM Base kit arrived this morning, along with Ferodo pads, stainless lines, Five Axis spoiler, Muteki Lugs. Only grip is the lugs were a waste of money, 3 lugs are already missing paint on the tips. All in all, the FBM kit looks incredibly well built.

I start this phase of the built in about a week.

My family lives in Barrie and i come back every summer for a few weeks.
I also drive a firestorm up in Victoria, but would love to see how the car feels with FI as i plan on going that route in a few years.
Think i could get a ride in your sweet looking FR-S most likely in July?
I may even end up driving my car back for the trip.

Sounds like a good idea!

I thought I'd give an update on my project car.

I took Monday-Wednesday off work to install the base FBM turbo kit, Eibach sway bars, stainless brake lines, Ferodo pads, Perrin Brake cylinder brace, and Five:AD spoiler, and Nameless front up-pipe/front pipe.

How did it go, you ask? Well, I allotted two full days for the turbo install, with an additional day for dyno tuning. That was a mistake. Fortunately, I managed to install all brake related items and the spoiler last Friday.

Monday:

I started with the fuel pump. Pulled out the stocker, replaced it with the mods necessary, and the car fired up with no issues. Next up, I wanted to swap the injectors, as I figured this was the last thing I could replace while still being able to fire the car up. This job was a PITA, and took the rest of the day. Chock some of that up to my lack of experience with injectors. Whenever I venture into a job like this, I tend to slow right down and make sure it's right. Regardless of my patience, I did not know to oil the injector seals, and when I installed them, they kinked, and gas sprayed out. LJ informed me about the oil trick, and boom no gas leak. I fired the car up, and it ran, albeit pretty rough. I knew the ECU would try to adjust for the new injectors, but I didn't know how long it would take. I only left the car running for about a minute, which wasn't long enough... as it was sputtering and blowin' lots of smoke. Hope that's what it is supposed to do. I ended the day by lifting the car and pulling the bottom covers off the car.

Tuesday:

This was a day filled with drama. I started on the exhaust, and quickly realized I would not be able to install the nameless exhaust with just 18" of clearance under the car. It needs to swing in. That sucks, as I didn't want to drive it to a shop... needless to say, I think I have two options, flat bed it to a shop once the turbo is done, or, drive it with just the down pipe on. Moving on... I gave up on that, and removed the bumper, fans, and exhaust header. The day ended with the new fans in place, the bumper drilled/reinstalled and the intercooler mounted.

Wednesday:

I started the day off flipping the intercooler around, and cutting the plastic for the plumbing. Reinstalled the washer fluid tank. Then I started on the turbo. I clocked it. Got the oil feed line installed, got the oil return line installed. That was an issue though, as the supplied line is too long, and even though I knew it came that way, I thought it would fit. Turns out I needed to take about an inch off. So, since the header is installed, I am going to try and cut this down tomorrow.

That's about it for now!

As a fellow Barrie'er I'm watching this intently and can't wait to see you on the road somewhere around town! I'm still dreaming of what I want to do to my Hot Lava, but drooling over your new wheels, seriously considering the Raijin's in gunmetal or black though. If you don't mind me asking, who's your trusted Tire Guy in Barrie?
