I dont think it's a short ram type, looks like it still uses the snorkel from the normal airbox. It may be uprated possibly too.

Looks like it just increases the amount of airflow being pulled in. Might just be aesthetics being a TRD item. Not sure if t

Short ram feeds from inside engine bay. This is fed air from where the stock air filter pulls in air through the front.

I'm pretty sure the increased airbox volume and possibly tuned snorkel effects performance in a very positive way.

for reference:http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Airboxes.html

I know it's motorcycle specific, but at the end of the day gas fueled 4 stroke internal combustion engines are not going to act very differently.

That's the first intake I've REALLY liked for these cars. Probably makes a frickin' racket and a half ^_^

This is the first intake I think looks the absolute worst and is an oversized stock intake with TRD letters written on it...

Interesting they stuck with an accordion style inlet. Does anyone know the airflow benefits of that design? I'd assume it might be better for low end but it seems like it would create some unnecessary turbulence at higher revs.

Interesting reading. Kinda makes you wonder about these intake systems that stick a filter on the end of a long piece of pipe out in front of the radiator....oh well, "butt dynos" are never wrong, are they? LOL

hey i just walked over to my parts department and had the part number checked here in canada and it says the part is "obsolete" which means it is either non-existent, one time only part or that it is still in the development phase.
