Some engines have poorer emissions from forged pistons. Wear, tear, an reliability tho no. No draw backs

Have you ever owned a built subaru motor?

I know this is not an EJ, but if its anything like it regarding motor builds, I will not touch this motor ever lol.

There are very few built subie motors that have a long shelf life. Again I know i'm comparing it to an EJ but its the only thing i'm familiar with. Maybe with this motor being NA its a bit different (hopefully). Maybe Visconti can chime in from what he has seen so far. I'd love to ask Crawford, wish they didn't get banned.

Seriously, saying after market =/ reliable = untrue statement

No, I help build my buddies back in 07 on his 05 STI. Its all forged pushing around 650-675, cant remember exactly was 08 when it was dyno'd. Any way he has daily driven it since then and other than normal maint has had no issues. As for myself only built engines I have had is the 7MGTE and the 2JZGTE. In either case, a properly built engine isn't going to have problems.

I heard back from him also, it was the AMS kit he had used. Not sure which one at this point tho.

Pretty dumb statement when anyone seriously racing , this car, or any other,... the very first thing they do is build a much as possible bullet proof shortblock, (using outside vendor forged parts) including Robert Stout racing FRS being utilized for the Pirelli World Challenge Series or any Sports car in Grand Am racing series. If it ain't forged, it will be and if the company can't provide, a vendor does,.. way above OEM capabilities with extreme abuse and longevity in mind. This engine is waaay to new and very far from bullet proof,....as is the tranny/diff/or axles.
