There's an awful lot of nice stuff you can for 40k though. I've set my upper limit at $45k for a full speced one, if they can't do it, I'll walk away.

i'm on the same boat. and i honestly think this is a realistic figure.

however i don't plan to buy until 2013. by that time i'd think they are more willing to negotiate.

I would love to wait to 2013, but I don't think that it's humanly possible.

lol.

i dun usually like to buy a brand new release within 6 months of first production.

also it will be financially better off for me to wait until 2013.

i plan to keep the 86 for a long time so a few months wait is fine.

afterall i waited 15 years to get my Mx5.......

I called the Toyota dealership in Morley here in WA. The guy on the phone was trying to tell me that the top end model will be anywhere from 45-55K. And if the BRZ doesnt make it to Australia, you bet your ass Toyota will mark the price up high. It's a shame because you could get WRX power for around 45K.

if Toyota thinks they can sell it at higher price than the Civic Type R (similar spec) then they are dreaming.

When are we likely to get price confirmation? Would it be closer to the June(ish) release? Or early next year, once the car has been officially announced?

If it's 45-55k you can count me out, I'll see how much hyundai wants for the genesis coupe if it ends up here, or buy a supra.

I would be willing to pay up to $60K for a subaru Sti version (turbo) but i doubt it will come to australia as the wrx and impreza Sti are fairly popular here and subaru would be scared it would eat at their sales...

I created a topic on that theory so I agree with you 100%. :happy0180: But I guess that a sell would be a sell for Subaru so it would be win/win. And I would also be willing to pay 60K for the STI version as well. But lets be real. We both know that the STI version is not worth 60K Australian dollars. Only in Australia...........
