Lol ty did some work on those tires. The drift event didn't do much though... just normal wear. That's why I was surprised

Hate to say it, but that looks looks like brake stand damage to me! No way will tires delaminate like that without considerable heat! I wouldn't warranty that unless you want your warranty cancelled for abuse. My .02 cents

Thanks for the advice. Though my car wont do brake stands. AT. I get some hop and jump but no smoke show. They will seriously have a lawsuit on their hands if they try to void my warranty. Its a sports car. I remember dodge and Subaru both tried this in the past with people who drag raced or participated in D.E.s and lost large lawsuits. I have yet to officially hit a racetrack. the abuse is no more than autocross and low speed ( as in 1st gear) antics. If they can't stand behind their product that's a problem. However- I would fully understand them not replacing the tires.

just buff it off. Or use a hammer that always mends things as Jeremy Clarkson says.

Oh, and don't know if I mentioned it... Not seeking warranty on them, I am just going to ask about the wheel and tire protection I pay for each month. I mean, I can go curb the hell out of my wheels and go back and have them repaired or replaced for free. So I know this is a long shot but... Gotta at least ask about the tires. I'm going to be buying some regardless to get my by, not real comfortable driving around on these ones, and my insurance probably isn't gonna cover me if I lose control (extremely unlikely, hell, that's what burning them up was about, learning MORE control,) and hit someone.

HOLY SH*T dude. WOW. My premacy's went through 4 AutoX days and 10k miles of street driving. The AutoXes were on rough surfaces and I overheated the tires a few times for sure, managed to have a few chunks tear off from it all but compared to your tires it was nowhere near as severe!!! At many of my AutoX I did a few laps of pretty heavy drifting (hard not to on those tires) but still, WOW. I can't believe you managed to heat them up that much. I thought I drove pretty hard but now I feel like a wuss.

Lol! Or... you are smart and I'm a dumbass... note to self- don't overheat OE tires. still doesn't make sense that they fall apart lightly messing around but drift event and some auto x like road course (super small. <60 in turns) didnt do this. Drift event was poor pavement at that. Actually- I'll put up a video tonight of things that didn't do this

Submitting claim to Michelin through a tire shop as recommended course of action by my tech at the dealer. she said if they don't honor it shell try with Toyota but the tire protection is more of a road hazard thing and this is more of a defect thing.

Looks like some serious overheating. Were your air pressures set at the proper levels? They should be set at a higher pressure than the doorjamb sticker calls for when doing sustained high performance driving.

Your wheel and tire warranty might cover it, although for something like that they'll typically send an inspector to look at them, and to be honest, it looks more like abuse than any kind of tire defect or road hazard.

It's possible the drifting overheated the carcass and caused a partial failure, then your spirited driving finished them off.
