Great thread! Thank you for offering up helpful detailing advice to everyone here.
I have a question regarding touch up paint.

I have about 10 small chips on my front bumper, hood, and passenger side front fender.

I wanted to have a professional apply Opti this summer for added protection.

Is it worth it to try and touch these spots up before the application? I was not certain as to if the touch up paint would hold up during prep and coating.

Thanks!

that can be from too much product splattering.

yes you can use some ipa wipe down, however did you wax the car yet?

it will be your call on the touch up I'm not a fan of touch up that will be totally up to you. if you do touch them up make sure you give it time to cure before you opti coat.

Yeah, I didn't notice it until I got it out the next day. If the IPA removes the wax, I may just wash the whole thing soon and do an IPA wipe down then rewax it.

So I just got some Painted Black XXR 530's for my FR-S; what wheel wax/sealant would you suggest before I put them on? (Should I get the Sonax Wheel cleaner for when I regularly wash them?) Also, what wheel brushes do you recommend and what tire shine do you recommend for my new tires? Thanks! Look forward to meeting y'all in VA in a couple weeks!

I would put a coat of wax on them and use the Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner to clean them up.

Auto Finesse Mint Rims is a wax specific to wheels.

My paint has some super miniscule scratches just from dust and wiping down over the winter. Would Meguiar's Swirl remover followed by Show Car Polish applied with a 5" orbital take them out? Or would I need a heavier "cut?"

I would say give it a go, if that doesn't work you may want to switch up to microfiber cutting pads and menzerna fg400. finish up with menznera sf4000 with an uber green pad.

if you don't have any access to water at all I would say use the Adam's Waterless Wash.

So someone recently spilled something on my car. There was a small area of sticky fluid in which I poured water over it, and attempted to wipe it off. I was at my office at the time so the only thing to attempt to get the sticky off was a napkin (big mistake). Now there is a white-ish stain on the area, and it feels rough as opposed to smooth to the rest of the body. Attempted to do a wash, but not a completely thorough one due to the weather here, just did a quick hand wash at the gas station. (not a drive thru wash). gas station gives a hose and soap. Still didn't help. Is there any type of product I can use that will help clean this area?

do you know if its a soda or coffee? hmm you maybe able to remove it with Stoner's Tarminator then wax the area to protect it.

It's possible it was coffee being we offer coffee for our patients in my office. The liquid was a very thick sticky looking fluid that was leaking downward.

Thanks for the suggestion on the product. One question about the product, is this the type of product you can use on the entire car as part of a routine wash, or is it more like a once in a while use item that you use in the affected area?
