OK, I almost feel like I shouldn't post this, because everything is subject to change. So don't kill me if it does.

But, I was talking a guy today at work, who works for Toyota throughout the entire southeast region...

He told me to expect the FR-S in April.

Which makes sense, because another dealer I've spoken with, in CA said they're scheduled to receive their first shipment in March. [It takes a little longer to get them to the east coast.]

I'm not promising anything, but that's what I was told this morning.

I could see this being true cause spring has been what was planned for a awhile...only thing I fear is the date getting pushed back...

Makes sense, honestly I'm a bit more concerned about the price tag on the vehicle, if the FRS is over 23k I think it's very likely I will be looking at a significantly cheaper automobile.

I don't have any info on the price yet, I'll post as soon as I do, and, I might not know until after the unveil. But I don't see it being much more than that, if at all.

Honestly, if the FRS/BRZ even touches 25k, I'll just pick up a brand new WRX instead.

Some dealers are on the money though. The Suby dealer I've been friends with now for 20 some years said the STI version is going to stay NA for now and focus on common trackable upgrades in suspension/wheels/tires/brakes and bits for the looks. He said when I asked about the price, he said "right now, you're probably looking around $26,000 for a loaded out model, but I don't know if that's a high-end model or if it's including factory warranted parts". I can believe that. This guy has been on the money now more often than not for years and is a straight shooter.

He actually came up to talk to me about it since he knows I'm a car guy, and I had some interest in it a while back. Now I just check in on any new info on the all new WRX model.

Nice job on a clean Dealer rumor thread.

That's probably true for a lot of people. I don't see this as a cheaper WRX but I would hesitate to pay $25k for it based on the base stuff. I , need all the facts first.

That is refreshing to hear. If they use the same engine across the board including the STI, maybe we will get some N/A aftermarket support. Subarus are historically only bolt-ons for N/A with most of the support going for the turbo cars.

25000$

Wow
You don't know how lucky you guys are over the water
In 2000 a new Impreza wrx was £ 23000 and are now £33000 for a new STi

Wish they were dollars

Rip off Britain
It makes me want to move to the USA
Fuels now £1.40 per litre
Never mind we have some great country roads with lots of corners away from the police patrols and speed cameras

How much does a new car (let's say an Rx8) usually cost there?

The 2012 WRX only has a 5 speed manual....not good...plus the 2013 model is supposedly going to be the all new model...
