I would've been happy to pay R7000 for it. I just want the all-in-one system and I trust Parrot products implicitly. I'm also considering installing the dam thing myself. The guys at the Toyota in CT said they would double check it for me and even sign off that it's still under warranty.

There shouldn't be any issues as long as you're not cutting any cables.

So any bets on how long an instant gratification gadget junkie like me would be able to resist this thing?

@sav, I have fitted my GPS antenna on top of the radio and the reception is not that great so am going to try another spot under the dash first and will keep you updated how it goes. It does pick up the satellites but drops occasionally, will try move and see what happens!

Haha well all I can say is - WOW!! The UI is absolutely incredible. It's Android yes, but it doesn't feel like it - they've gone out of their way to make it as intuitive and easy to use as humanly possible. Everything gels nicely. Ask it to play "And justice for all" and it'll check the SD card as well as TuneIn radio.

Very happy with the unit, it's a pity there is no Android Market or PLay Store but it's easy enough side loading apps.

Anybody know where I could buy a mini ELM327 today?

What did you wind up paying for the unit? How does it fit? What was the installation/ wiring like to do?

Could you show us a pic with a bit more light to check the fit

i come in from washing my car... only to see i've been beaten...

the guy from smac emailed me anyway to told me he's still driving down from joburg so i wouldn't have been able to get it today.. i hope his boot is full of these things so i'm sure to have one...
