Did this today, procedure was the same although a little awkward due to right hand drive, the clutch pedal isn't on a cam, the cylinder is directly above the pedal and kind of has like a housing around it. It was pretty slippery too, had to wipe it with a rag before I could get grip with just my fingers.

As per the rest of the post, once the small 12mm hex was loosened, I simply pushed clutch in and out until the master cylinder rod would twist, and gave it two and a half full turns (or so) until it was 1mm below the brake pedal, then adjusted the 14mm bolts for the sensor.

Thanks to OP! Cheers!

This mod is so easy and so crucial. I had the same problem as everyone else, low gear shifts were not smooth at all. I only adjusted it where the clutch is a little higher than the brake pedal. Have to do more testing, but it feels a lot better. Thanks OP.

I know it's already been discussed, but I just want to confirm that this mod moves the pedal start/finish position, and not just the pedal itself? If that doesn't make any sense, what I originally thought is that this would simply push in the clutch a little bit, so you'd essentially be riding the clutch forever.

That's right. I don't know the technical term of it but think of the whole clutch range as a spectrum from 1-100, 100 is fully depressed, 1 is completely pressed down. The original friction point (catch point or grab point) is at somewhere between 40-60 of the whole clutch push spectrum. But adjusting the clutch pedal closer in line or even below the brake pedal you are moving the friction point from around 40-60 to somewhere like 20-40 (depends how far you adjust the clutch of course). Adjusting the pedal also FEELS like making the friction point smaller, say from 20-35, but I think it's just my mind playing tricks as it allows the engagement earlier so it kinda seems like the friction point range is smaller making it really easy to drive.

In other words, original factory setting you have to let the clutch go quite a bit before you can start pushing the gas pedal. With this DIY adjustment, you can literally lift the clutch just a bit and start to push the gas pedal right away. Hope that make some sense

Awesome, thanks to the two above ^^. I can't figure out how to actually "thank" you, but if I do I will haha. Anyway, didn't wait for an answer, I got antsy and did it a few days ago lol, sure makes a big difference!

Can't believe I waited so long to do this adjustment!! It's SO MUCH better to drive now.. and I make smoother shifts as a result! Thanks to Koji & to JohnnyRocket for the video.

Just another tip on "turning the rod"... Not sure how much others had to press their clutch in to turn the rod, but mine's was REALLY easy to turn with just a tiny nudge down on the clutch (like 2-3mm). If I pressed it in more (or didn't press it at all), it was impossible to turn.

Does anyone know if doing this adjustment would void the warranty?

Don't give them the opportunity to void your warranty by simply not telling them about the adjustment if you do it. This is seriously the best advise.

Agreed!

I adjusted mine slightly lower than brake pedal. From what I've noticed though is that it's much easier to burn the clutch with boots on.

This adjustment is akin to sliding your seat closer, or adjusting your seat back. There's no reason it should void your warranty.
